Forums - Gaming - So, is today like the night before Christmas for people on here?

Very excited, but until after work I will be unable to really check in on the MS news. Hope it turns out really good.

Nintendo's 2008 E3 conference was good. The only people I've seen who thought it was bad don't own any Nintendo console. Such as you, OP.

WSR, Wiimotion+, Wii Music, GTA:CTW sure beat anything Sony or MS had to offer

In addition to owning the following systems (and others I may of forgot):

Atari 2600, Odyssey II, Intellivision, Vectrex, Atari 8bit computer, Amiga, Genesis, Turbo-Grafx 16, Turbo Express, Sega Nomad, Saturn, 3DO, NGage, XBox 360, PS1 (with screen), PS3 (with backwards compatibility with the PS2), Atari Lynx, and Atari Jaguar.

I also own:

NES, SNES, N64, Wii (It plays Gamecube games so I don't need to own a GameCube), GBA, DS, and DSi.

What the heck are YOU talking about?  My post was about the general response people had.  I would equate what Nintendo did with socks.  They are very useful and needed, eventhough core gamers expecting a bunch of toy announcements were sadly disappointed.  There was no new Zelda or other things.  Go look up how the press conference is ripped by people.  I thought it was pretty good, just not targeting the core gamers who read here.  I was excited about Wii Motion+ actually.  As a BUSINESS presentation, it was a good one.

As far as announcements, the 360 getting Final Fantasy XIII was a bigger announcement to CORE gamers here than anything Nintendo ran.  You SERIOUSLY think Wii Music was a bigger news item than Final Fantasy XIII on the 360?  Do you?

Update your games collection!! Gosh! :P

But my point is that that is not the general response people had. It was the general response PS360 fanboys had (and I'm including gaming media under that label). The majority of Wii owners on the internet liked the conference. Even you just said you were excited about WM+.

Wow. Just wow, please. I shouldn't even need to respond to this. I'm sorry if you actually have problems with your reading comprehension (man I'm going to feel so bad if you're speaking English as a second language)

to quote myself

"WSR, Wiimotion+, Wii Music, GTA:CTW sure beat anything Sony or MS had to offer"

Never did I say that Wii Music alone was a bigger news item than FFXIII on 360

If MS had announced that FFXIII and FFvXIII were cancelled on the PS3, coming exclusively to the 360. It would still not have been as big as Wii Motion Plus

It's Christmas Day now =)

My game collection on here is NOT a representation of what I actually own.  I have too many games to list, so I only list games in there to make a point.  My game collection on there is an artform, done so I don't lose Brett and Release Date.  It also shows my thoughts of bragging of collections on here.  Plus, I like an air of mystery.  I wouldn't of even listed anything on there, but nagging compelled me to do it.  Oh yes, and I do believe it is critical I own Brett, and state that.  Of course, people on here who are on here too much would say that Brett owns them.  But, I am not going to quibble over this.

As far as what you listed topping what Sony and Microsoft did, Wii Sports Resorts STILL isn't out.  Chinatown Wars bombed, and Wii Music is Wii Music.  The collective WHOLE still doesn't match what Sony and Microsoft discussed among HARDCORE game owners.  It was a decent presentation for bean counters and other executives.  Beyond that though?  Well, hardcore gamers aren't happy with it.  Netflix on 360 > about each of those new items alone, same thing with the ravamp of the interface.

So, I stand by my prior comment that the E3 presentation last year was equivalent to getting socks.
