Shoot fences with your lightning bolt if you are out of juice and then charge up.
Helps alot if there aren't electric sources around you.
Oh and charging up heals you.

These tips apply if you are trying for the Platinum.
1) Keep track of the number of shards you collect by District. It is much easier to know that your final shard is in Neon, then to search all 3 districts for it.
2) Buy the power-ups that can be good or evil first. These are the only ones that count for the trophy. If you waste XP on the other power-ups, you may complete the game before you purchase the necessary upgrades.
3) Take the shards as you find them, but don't hunt for them until you have cleared the majority of a district.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

to get the melee finish stunt easily and early, you'll come across a scene VERY EARLY in the game where there are a lot of cops blocking your way forward (there is a moral choice option here)

If you're playing as good, just punch/kick them all instead of zapping them and you'll get the stunt

Makes life that much easier later on if you're going for platinum.

if you want to go for the platinum, keep a record of the number of shards you've found in each district, that will make your life a lot less miserable. also the shards you gained through the missions do not count as the shards collected, so don't worry if you miss some of them because of your moral choices.

also your game stat will not accumulate through multiple plays. for example, if you want to get the trophies that have numbers in them, you have to achieve these numbers in one single play through.

Final boss is much easier if you are evil, because you will have extra energies.

yeah...when you first start...go to options and choose "normal view" instead of inverted.

Inverted screws up the aiming and is different from the demo. Not sure why they had that as the default in the regular game.

They don't.  The game automatically calibrates it.  At the start, it says something like look up at some helicopter.  Depending on what way you push it will set it as normal or inverted.

When facing against aerial oponents (especially late in the game) upgrade the Megaton hammer (sp?) so that you can make the blast go to wherever you shock, so it acts like a heat seaking missle. That way you don't have to keep zapping your normal lightning ad nauseum, or futiley(sp?) fire your Megaton Hammer, only to miss every time. The precision shock also counts as a normal shock, so if you're trying to do a stunt that requires you to do something, then shock, all in midair, then you can use precission to slow down time and aim for the body. Always heal people (and bioleach if playing evil). The xp adds up, and you won't have to do it later for the trophies. Do all the side quests. If riding the train tracks, and you go on the right side, whenever you see a train coming from the left, that means that the train on the right track (the one you're on) is RIGHT BEHIND YOU!

Actually, this isn't always the case. The trains won't always be right next to each other when you see them. You can just turn the camera to look behind you to see if the train is coming. If you do, get of the tracks because getting hit by a train HURTS! (Yes, I tried it.) Stick to the right side going forward since you'll run into the trains less often.

I have an inFamous trophy guide on VGC; the link is in my sig. Hopefully it will help you get the platinum; it includes a list of all the stunts and how to get them. I didn't know that precision counts as a normal shock, so that might make some things easier.

If you see a blast shard, take it! I know it's been said before, but they can be a real pain to find once you've beaten the game. I would also encourage you to do side missions along side story missions. Collect all the dead drops as soon as you can; they give you a lot of background info to the story and add a lot to the game.

Other than that, just have fun! And once you've beaten it, you can wait for inFamous 2 with the rest of us.

EDIT: Lol, didn't realize this had been posted so long ago. Just fyi, if you find a cheat for a game, feel free to post a new thread rather than resurrecting one from 3 months ago.
