Have you even played metal gear? I've played them all since the nes ones, and they are all very high quality games. Notice I said quality. You may not like them, but that doesn't mean they aren't top notch games and therefore, it's understandable that people like them.

Like I said so many times, there will be some amazing announcement from all three companies, but people are expecting to be blown away.
Think about it, tons of games were announced last E3, the moment most talk about is a game we all knew about being ported to another console.
The PSP will get tons of loving this E3, as a PS3 fan if another mgs announce, that's just gravy for me.
