Forums - Nintendo - A boy and his Blob Videos of pesty birds and deadly water

IGN posted a lot of videos. WARNING some of them can be a little spoilers of how to beat a level

http://media.wii.ign.com/media/143/14326534/vids_1.html

There's a lot more strategy involved in this one, for example some levels have birds that eat your jellybeans, so you can't throw it at certain places. It's beautiful... but the boy's voice sounds like ..... I dunno ???

There better be a option to shut the kid up but other then that I love it!

Correction. A 10 hours long "Flash Game"

IGN: About how long would you estimate the game is?

Sean: From the outset, we were planning on making it about 10 hours long for the first play-through, but if you get stumped on a puzzle or something, it could take much, much longer. Now, if you're trying to get all the treasure -- there are three hidden treasures in each level -- the hidden treasures work to unlock challenge levels. So there are 40 levels and then 40 challenge levels. It's a massive amount of content. We aimed to make something that was around the size of Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island and I think we've succeeded in at least meeting that and probably surpassing it in terms of sheer content. It's going to take players a long time to beat. I don't think anybody is going to accuse the game of being too short.

I guess flash really does have potential. Hard to imagine when all you ever see on M&C or newgrounds is trash

its so sad majesco is publishing this, it will bomb, but i will do my part and buy it.

The boy's voice sounds like a little boy, which he is... I don't get why the complaints. I find it kinda cute.

I am impressed. The graphics look real good to me, and it looks like a GREAT reworking of the NES game. Artistic style > raw horsepower.

It's really jarring when the rest of the audio is so mild and ambient, and suddenly the sound of a child screaming "BLOOOOB!" cuts through everything. Maybe they just need to crank the rest of the audio up, or use some gentler voice samples. It would also help if your blob had an easier time keeping up without being prompted by the boy.

The art and animation is fantastic, though.
