     You know, you do make a good point here.  However, if Epic knows that they won't be making another 360 exclusive, principally because Gears 3 is set to be the Halo 3 of 720 as I have theorized many times, this does seem to be something they could do to tide themselves over 'til the 2010 or 2011 release of Gears 3 on 720.


Your theories are worthless. You just keep repeating the same inane statements over and over, so worthless multiplied isn't worth much more. Gears on the Xbox 720, and PS3 at 70M are the best ones I can remember. Really, for the first its against the best interests of Epic games and for the second, for the PS3 to sell another 50M whilst the Xbox 360 barely manages a little less than 20M goes against so many schools of thought that I would have to conclude that your four degrees are in BS.

 

      It's a big thing to call them worthless.  But then if they happen you've got egg all over your face, Cpt. Kirk.  Want to put your money where your mouth is?   If Gears 3 is announced on 720 half your vgchartz dollars are mine?  And if the PS3 has sold 5 million copies in Japan after the release of FF Versus XIII another half of your vgchartz dollars is mine?  What do you think of those proposals?

They really are....Why would he take the the PS3 japan bet...Unless he has alot of faith in Zelda Wii.....


     Yeah, I'll admit they are worthless until the day Gears 3 is on 360 or until following the release of FF Versus XIII there have been 5 to 7 million PS3s sold in Japan, and then I'm right on the money.

I dont see the big deal if this is true the only thing that makes me think that what this guy wrote is not true is that fact that I have not seen any other sign from anyother websites that talk about this or any hints.

Epic Games is Hiring.A LOT! .So they might defenetly be working on something new....

I was excited until I read horror game. Why not a shooter or something...(what's the word)...GOOD!!

Itll be a horror shooter. Similar to Resident Evil 5, but done properly.

 

I'm guessing if this IS true, it's a Ps3 exclusive because they want to make it more story based with a lot of cut scenes (ie MGS4) and then eventually turn it into a movie.

I would nod my head and say yes this is all plausible, if it weren't for the fact that this is Epic Games...not Konami, Capcom, or any more story driven developer. To me their strengths lie in their UE engine and online gameplay. Epic Games would be among the last of developers to make a movie in my opinion.

edit: Another reason is that in GeoW2 the CGI scenes actually looks worse than in-game engine cutscenes

IIRC there is no CGI in Gears 2

Epic could be doing a PS3 exclusive on a whim to continue their (failing) support for the platform. PlayStation 3 has a reasonably large user base now, so an exclusive is not out of the question. I mean look how successful Gears was on a much smaller user base than what the PS3 has now. Epic could be trying to keep things even, as in their support for each platform. Kind of like what Square said they would be doing this generation, "supporting every platform equally."
