Forums - Microsoft - Halo 3, 2 reviews leaked !

i don't have the feeling that they push Halo as a graphical experience, they just like want to make another Halo

I don't see why the graphics would lower the final score, those category points were introduced in times where you saw the enemies' legs trough the door, where explosions ended in massive framedrops, where too many enemies on screen did the same thing and where people had to ressemble well known actors but looked like a milk-can inside out and where your gun auto-aimed before you could see the enemy through the fog. (N64 Goldeneye) Thats why they still grade the graphics.

I dont think it will top bioshock.

But you know, IF Halo3 gfx are juste "medium/average" AND IF the game gets 10/10, it means the game is wonderfull, in a way ?

That or because this game is so hyped and so popular nobody wants to be the first to give it bad votes and loose readers, or sponsors for that matter.

Did anyone expect H3 to be a graphics fest though? From the Beta impressions, everyone knew the graphics weren't going to be spectacular.

But to be fair, it was intentional - they kept the coding focused on optimizing net code, making it run smooth with 8 players online, and 4 players online in SP mode. I'd rather have a game that wasn't GOW-type graphics if it had no lag, and was perfect in every other way.

Honestly I was expecting better from Bungie. Bungie is usually right at Square, Polyphony, Epic, and Kojami's level when it comes to making insanely nice graphics and great gameplay.

That's kind of cool that reviews are being leaked, but I tend to disregard review publications like OXM, Nintendo Power, or whatever the Sony one is...

and why would a Sony or Nintendo owned magazine review a 360 game? and yea I can see your point on not trusting OXM as its the official xbox magazine but I wouldnt trust EGM's review either.

The graphics in Halo 3 are still fantastic, specially in regular compaign, which are better then the beta. You have to remember, they are making this into a huge war, and if they went graphics king, it would slow the frames and all that stuff. Im very happy they didnt go graphics king so it would be smooth, still look great, and feel like a real battle with tons of guys killing each other on each side

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

thats no excuse. BF2 and BF2142 both have 32 vs 32 man battles without losing any graphics and BF2 is a 4 year old PC game, yes I know PC but the 360's hardware is beyond 4 year old PC hardware, I hope.

And from what I played of BF2, the graphics weren't all that great.

BF is a series that IS optimized for those huge 32v32 battles. The graphics aren't great, compared to similar SP-focused games (ie, Bioshock).

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Mrstickball,

I can't believe you just compared Battlefield 2 and a newer game's graphics (ie-Bioshock). Battlefield 2 looked quite nice when it came out in the summer of 2005. You're argument in that post is very odd by saying that an over 3 year old game looks worse than bames of today.

I really hope that the brand new game would look better than the 3-4 year old one. . .

TXB reviews 'best ever 360 game' Halo 3 - scores it a 9.7/10, leaked an hour early

In just over an hour from now, the IGN network and other major publications are set to publish their reviews of Halo 3 online. However, after some cheeky site digging, visitors to TeamXbox have managed to find the link for the review already! They have awarded it a 9.7/10, claiming it is the best Xbox 360 title to date. Believe it or not, the title scored 9.5 for its graphics and a 10 for its longevity. We'll be posting another article in just over an hour which denotes all the major review scores.

As I said at the beginning of this review, Halo 3 is the best Xbox 360 game to date. The single-player campaign and storyline are both very strong, but it’s Forge and the Saved Films features that will likely go down in history as Bungie’s crowning achievements. They’ve basically taken everything great about the series and improved upon it in every way, then added some amazing new features that we’ll be using for years to come. The fight may be finished, but this amazing experience is never going to end.
