Forums - Microsoft - out with the old box in with the new

Sorry about your lost, it's suck to get RROD. Yeah, on the Arcade unit you are going to have to find the optical cable that came with the HDMI kit or the elite. (Sometimes you can find them used at Gamestop) Or you can used the component cable but the problem is it's too big to used HDMI also (another MS craptastic design).

Anyway, I am in the same boat as you, if my 360 die and go out of waranty I will have to buy another one as I have so many games for it. I hope by the time that happen (2years from now) 360 will be at $99.00.

pft screw that get a ps3

Typical Microsoft IMO.

But honestly, if you really like your 360 and its games stick with it. Also 50k Gamerscore would be hard to...give away

@eNamrah The 2600 had very cheap controllers that weren't very durable not that it mattered much since most 2600 games had very bad controls to begin with.

Thanks for the support everyone.

I supposed I will look at fixing the old one, the X-clamp or whatever, its not like I have anything to lose. I've fixed a read error on a PS2 and cleaned the drive lens in an original X-box so maybe I could handle installing it.

eNamrah, aside from disk noise, its as quiet as a baby! If you installed the games I can't imagine hardly any noise coming from the thing!

mysticD, I hope yours holds up. I do think it will be a long time before the arcade model hits 99 dollars though, look at how long it took the PS2! But do you have any problems out of it or hints that something is wrong?

That's what's truly creepy. Mine was perfectly fine last night, woke up and within an hour of playing BYE BYE. No previous indication what so ever.

Crap, I have 6 x 360's... In total I have had 3 RRoD from separate machines (1 intentionally caused because its fan was going)....

I have had more problems with my 2 x PS3's... Each has gone back to Sony twice.

And my one and only Wii has returned once.

With that many failures clearly you're to blame. wth are you doing to them?
