Forums - Nintendo - Clamouring for more fighting games...

I usually keep myself from making threads(for troll, flame wars...), but anything for a first time...

Anyway,

This might be a surprise coming from a Mario otaku, but I feel sorta left out as wii owner when it comes to fighting games. Sure we got Brawl, some of Midway's Mortal Kombat and I'm all for it! But I still feel left out of the good old smack in your face Streetfighter 4... And when I heard of the new King of Fighters 12 that's coming out, I was excited.., but only to feel gunned down (literally felt that way) afterwards that it's not coming out for the wii. Yes, we get Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars and I already know about the KOFC: Orochi Saga for the wii(wich I'll get soon or find it, I hope), but I still feel left out of the loop for the good-ol' ones just because I have (can only afford) a wii.

I hope I don't sound like I'm nagging spoiled-brat, but this is how I feel. Anybody else(wii owner) feels this way?

PS: Trolls, Flame Wars and name calls are not allowed.

Wii owners don't like fighters.

Look at the recently announced Gladiator A.D.
You got people screaming "meh" all over the place, primarily because it was a fighter. People were saying:
I'm not into fighting games
This game isn't my cup of tea
Not for me
Meh
fighting game....pass

This was VERY wide spread.

Wii gamers don't like fighting games (except ones that include Nintendo mascots) confirmed.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

Hmm, good point. That's kinda happening around IGN(for the most case)... Any one else?

Looking into my newest issue of PSX Extreme (polish multiplatform magazine which started as ps1 only title)

there's quite fresh releases of:

Guilty Gear II Accent Core Plus (7+ on 10 point scale)
Samurai Showdawn Anthology (6+ on 10 point scale)

both on Wii/PS2.

Have to admit, I so overlooked GGII (for same reasons above). Another fav that I shouldn't scrapped off my list early on!

Edit: Forgot say thanks, so "Thank you for the info, Zlejedi!"

Nah, I don't really feel the same way. I'm not the biggest fan of fighting games, I've only ever liked 2 series: Smash Brothers and Power Stone. We've already got Brawl, and with the TMNT Brawl-like game coming out, I'm set for the generation, in terms of fighting games.

The Wiimote sucks for fighting games.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

You can use the classic controller and/or gamecube controllers for most fighting games so agin plese stop flaming for no reason.

Yay 500th post

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

I feel the same way that you do; especially since I loved Soul Calibur II, and Nintendo has gotten the short end of the stick from that franchise ever since.

I think the big problem (with almost every traditional game, not just fighters) is that 3rd parties threw their support behind the HD consoles, and fans followed them there, leaving only Nintendo fans and the new expanded audience on the Wii. There's just not enough of a draw for third parties to bring their games to the Wii. To fix that, third parties would have to bring their AAA game to the Wii, and to make sure their fans buy Wiis, they'd have to starve the HD consoles; but since their fans who already bought HD consoles would scream bloody murder on that, fat chance of that happening.

I hate being logical and understanding about this because now I'm totally depressed.
