I'm sorry to hear about your 360 :(

I'm getting an Arcade just as a back up. Good idea to sell your console every 2 years and buy a new one, to keep the warrenty running.

I don't believe people who claim to have had "6 RROD's"

Utter BS imp, I have had 2 360's over the course of 3 ish years and neither of them had any problems. I understand people get RROD ... but six?!!!! nah don't think so.

Eh, it's really not BS. I know 2 people over 4, one of them is on his 6th (he's a no-life addict though).

I know you probably wont believe me anyway, but whatever

You're right I don't

Thats cool man. But since I don't like hypocrites, please don't call anyone 'blind' or 'deluded' when Im in a thread

I don't care who you like and dislike, and I won't shape my posts around you.

I am sure there is someone out that that has had 6 RROD's but I honestly believe that cases like that are so rare nobody on this site has actually heard of anyone having it. 6 RROD's is just ridiculous ...

I'd scrap it and get what you can while you can. I'm sorry but the difference between the two systems is so insignificant it's not worth the hassle or headache of RROD or any other malfunction. By continuing to give money to a broken product you as a consumer show Microsoft that faulty equipment will be tolerated and forgiven as long as they provide a fun gaming experience.

The only way they feel the pain is from their pocket books.

I've had 23 RRoDs.

People would argue that you yourself not having a 360 that has died is even more ridiculous

Repairing your 360 yourself will under no circumstances get you banned provided you do not mess with the DVD drive firmware. I work for a thrid party repairer fixing 360's and it's not an issue at all so whoever your source was OP they're wrong.

Anyone that has had more than 2 or 3 RROD's needs to look at the way they're abusing their systems or install a UPS as their electric supply must be horrendous. The only exceptions to this rule I've ever heard is people getting faulty units back from Microsoft on 2 occasions in the first couple of years of repairs, their service now is a lot better than it was then thankfully.

If you decide to get a arcade replacement then make sure it's a Jasper which are significantly more reliable.

I've gotten my RRod way back. My second ones been doing very well so far though.

Either buy a new 360 (not used) and get a 3 year warranty or get a PS3 and try out the exclusives that have been buzzing the forums for years. It's up to you ,I don't care . I only care to support developers..........That going to be in my sig

Your call OP but if you are worried of it happening again you could always sell it while its alive.

Not having an RROD VS 6 RROD's .... even more ridiculous? those people would be Sony fanboys.
