I'm a huge 360 booster as anyone who knows me is aware . . . but i'm at the end of my rope.

Now my second 360 is red ring of death.

How many do I have to go through?  It's a complete joke to be honest.

I have no warrenty on this one, so I looked online for a fix, and there is a good one.  They note tho that if you fix your 360 yourself, they may ban you from xbox live.  What is that bullshit?  Honestly what is that?  I'm so sick of xbox live rules and dogma for a service I have already paid for 13 months of. 

So either I buy a new one, which can break anytime.  Call microsoft and pay them to do what i can do myself.  Or do it myself and risk being banned from xbox live.  Fun decisions to try to make 3 days from my birthday.

I'm not a ps3 lover by any stretch.  But if I have one, I can buy modern warfare 2 when it hits, and play online for free (my live subscription is running out, so I will need another one at the same cost as MW2).

I'm thinking this is it fellas, I culd trade my 360 games and system to some store for a ps3 with kz2 probobly.  And all these worries go away.

Yeah all my friends are on xbox live .. . but I am just sick to death of dropping money on top of money into this thing.

It's a shame really as I love 360 honestly.  But the differences in library are so slight.  I just want the BS to end.

You do have a warranty - It's covered for 3 years since you got your second one. What exactly aren't you telling us?

What error was it? E74? Thats the common one and I hear it's under extended warranty now.

Otherwise I dunno man, I've got my PS3, I'm happy, and I'll friend you on it if you need friends ;)

Check the manufacture date on the back of the console. If it's within the past 3 years, you're good, and it's covered.

You should be covered with a warranty. Don't worry about losing your friends from XBL, they will make the switch when they get RROD as well. This might sound like a mean thing to say. However every person I know who has a 360 has gotten the Red Ring.

I think this problem really holds the 360, otherwise a very solid system down.

If another person registered that used 360 then it's no longer covered.  You have to pay for a new registration which is the price of an arcade :\
