I am not going to buy this game for the third time. Do they still have the rule that if you close your account and are inactive in 6 months that you have to rebuy the game and you lose all your progress?

I forget what the amount of time is, but yeah, after so long you just lose your character.  I remember I stopped for a while and tried to come back but my character was already deleted so I'm sadly done with the game (because I really do like it).

Too bad, because I really liked the game too. The biggest problem for me was that it was time consuming and it was hard to find partys at certain lvls They have probably solved those problems.

Yeah, getting to about the 40 mark is a horrible grind (but still fun for the most part) and then 50-70 is just painful.  I spent so long in the 55-65 area just because finding a party wasn't easy, finding the time to be in the party after finding the party wasn't easy, and then being a gimped healer always sucked.

My main was SMN and, man, levels 1-69 were just hard because every party wanted you to be a WHM and expected you to heal as well as one.  I was pretty awesome at being a gimped WHM and was great at keeping the party alive, but it was just rough.  Soloing was a lot of fun but one mistake meant a lot of lost time.

Every now and then I was lucky enough to find all SMN parties, SMN/BST parties, and parties that let me do tihngs beside heal and those were always a blast, but being a gimped healer just sucked (especially if there was no RDM or BRD handy).

My main were RDM and I had to heal in the partys all the time but I could also fight so it was nice. I left the game after I fell from lvl 60 several times with bad partys and trying to solo with RDM/NIN. I would probably have stayed if I got the last part of my RDM suite the head but it was hard to find other RDMs to do with or getting help. The game got better for me after 30 and even better at 40 when I got my refresh ability and everyone wanted me in partys and then I lost my attraction at 55-60 :(. Never tried SMN I always felt sorry for them because it seemed such hard class.

When it fails to crack 200K, are they going to bitch saying "Oh, we can't really on that system... We're going to shift our focus to other platforms"?

There are only like 200k active people even playing the game.  Your probably looking at maybe 30-40k in sales the most

I wasn't familiar with the figures... but damn...

Now I'm sure they will complain.

They aren't doing it for sales though, there doing it so ps2 players can still play it on ps3

which benefits them because the more PS2 owners that have PS3s the more the chance FFXIII will sell.

Too late, especially now that WoW has grabbed such a huge pie of the market. And like someone said it is newbie unfriendly, and finding groups is a bitch. Plus with the game being dominated by Japanese players, it may be daunting and twice as hard for an English speaking player.

Only thing true in this post is wow being popular everything esle is wrong. Japs are on a different timezone then us and its hard to find a jap player really. and they have a translater also.

I know I sound uptight but please don't use Jap. Although SE provided basic commands you can't fubction as a team and truly interact with people (the true fun of a MMO) with only short phrases. I also used to play at night. As I said I never presented my personal experience a the experience everyone will have. So please calm down and not say I'm wrong. I'm sure I know what I experienced better than you.

Yes but what you experienced is not what anybody esle will thats played the game more then once.. ive been playing for 5 years, have 8 jobs on max level and i can clearly say MY experience actually counts... I can tell you have not played for more then a week.

And the translater is almost every word in the game and as people have said before is pretty good
