Forums - Nintendo - What Nintendo will show at E3?

I'm suprised their isn't a current expectations thread for E3 so I decided to create one with all my expectations and possibilities for E3.

So what games can we expect at E3?

Pikmin3 , origionally announced by Miyamoto at E3 2008. Pikmin3 could be one of the big titles this fall. Nintendo's major hint at the new Pikmin was the re-release of the origional Pikmin with new WiiMote controls. Could we see an online addition to Pikmin this round after multiplayer made its glorious debut for Pikmin 2. Could the new online mode feature more then two players? Could we see some new characters like we did with Pikmin2?

Donkey Kong (Origionally announced at TGS 2005). One of the first games announced for the Wii was Donkey Kong. However they were not refering to Bongo Blast which at the time of the announcement was announced for the GameCube. This new Donkey Kong is hinted with the re-release of Donkey Kong:Jungle Beat with new Wiimote control's.

The new Zelda (Origionall announced at TGS 2005) Hinted and confirmed a new Zelda has been in the works for years and since their is usually two Zelda games released per platform a new Zelda does not seem all that far fetched. With Wii Motion Plus the new Zelda could feature amazing sword play not seen in the past Legend Of Zelda games. Currently we have no info on the new Zelda as Nintendo tends to keep those things quite.

MarioParty 9 , every year pretty much has seen a new MarioParty. However we never saw a new MarioParty released in 2008 this means a new MarioParty is definatly going to be on the show room floor. Not to mention Wii Motion Plus will mean tons of new mini-games and ways to play existing games in new ways.

Rumours of games and hardware

Nintendo GameBoy/DS - a new DS/GameBoy could definatly see unvieling at this years E3! We saw the GBA released in 2001 with the DS released lin 04. A third model of the GBA called the GBA Micro was released right before the DS, much like those times the new DSi the third model of the DS was just released. It has been 5 years since the origional DS's release. With Sony set to announce a new PSP a new GameBoy/DS sounds pretty likely. Nintendo wouldn't want Sony to have new hardware unchallenged by Nintendo, especially since Nintendo is the dominant handheld games console manufacturer.

Kid Icarus - origionally rumoured to be in development at Factor 5. Kid Icarus has sure been hinted at alot and with the new WiiMotionPlus flying could be innovated and lead to a great new title. Since the rumours have been going for the last few years it is highly possible.

Mario Tennis - With the Wiimake of Mario Power Tennis a new Mario Tennis game is highly likely. With the new Wiimotion Plus Mario Tennis will give you a unique new way to play.

WiiFit 2 - With the release of WiiSports Resort it sounds as though Nintendo is ready to start capitalizing on it Wii franchises. WiiFit2 is a possibility for E3 2009. It could lead to some new peripheral to accompany the Wii Balance Board or could incorporate the new Wii Motion Plus in with the traditional Wii Balance Board.

Pokemon (DS or Wii) - A new Pokemon game is set to come out sooner or later. With the release of Platnum this year a new Pokemon game should be unvieled soon. A new game for the Wii is highly likely. Rumours are flying that Nintendo might unviel the new generation of Pokemon at this years E3. Also if Nintendo shows off a new handheld to compete with Sony's new PSP we could see a big showing from Nintendo and the Pokemon brand.

Big new IP's - Nintendo has shied away in 2008 from releasing new games. They released far fewer games then their studios can/are pumping out. Many believe Nintendo has been stock piling first party software for a big fight in the near future. Nintendo could very well unviel scores of new software at E3.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sony says that E3 2009 will be its biggest showing in years, possibly rivalling E3 2006 which revealed the new PS3 hardware. If Sony is planning such a big influential showing it wouldn't suprise me to see Nintendo rival it. So what other rumours have you heard and what do you expect from Nintendo come next Tuesday?

I doubt a new handheld will be released. Other than that, anything (ANYTHING!!) can be announced. Therefore, everything (yes, everything) is pure speculation.

I guess they may show or announce a Wii Remote with built-in MotionPlus.

Why would they have wii fit so earl. I wish we had mario party 9 yes pikmin 3 is first on the list

The question majorily on my mind!

Is Nintendo going to best Sony's E3 showing?

In the past up untill E3 2006 Nintendo almost always lead E3 with the biggest and most powerful showcase. When you think E3 you think Nintendo and its glorious E3 showings. However the last two years Nintendo didn't really own E3 it was more a Microsoft/Sony showcase. With Sony claiming this is going to be their biggest showing in years with a new handheld expected and all can Nintendo actually take the trophy of best showing home this year?

I highly doubt a sequel to Wii Fit will be announced till it drops out of the top ten games world wide.

Sony might show more games, but Nintendo will probably show more games for this year.

I think Nintendo will show video games.

I hope my prediction comes true.

I'm trying to hide from the speculation in case I end up disappointed.

I just hope they give me 3 or 4 BIG first party games. Even if they come out over the next 12 months I'd be happy. Last years show was appalling, especially coming off the back of the Wii Fit/Brawl/Kart hyperbeam of early 08.

I've love a hyperbeam release schedule like that, actually, for Q4/09 Q1/10. Casual, core and bridge title.

(I just realised that in the context of my hyperbeam metaphor, Nintendo would have to rest for a turn before the next attack... so a big Q4/09 and a big Q2/10, please.)

In fact, have Nintendo been resting since their last hyperbeam?? :-o Or did they run out of PP?

Wii Fit Plus, featuring an exercise bike.
