Forums - Nintendo - Koji Kondo vs. Joe Hisaishi

:D

Around the Network

Koji Kondo. I'm a bit biased though, because I don't know the other composer. I see he's got talent though, which is the best we can ask for!

Now, I seriously want to give praise to Mahito Yokota for doing this particular song in Super Mario Galaxy:

Seriously, did this guy come from nowhere and write such a song? o_O

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Yeah... you did just post about this on a video game website :)

I love Hisaishi but now I'm leaning more and more towards Yoko Shimomura :

Joe Hisaishi all the way - i'm big fan of Ghibli movies

@ Khuutra. Awesome track, i wish i could actually play the game :(

I'm also going to have to stand behind Videogirl as well actually. Yoko Shimomura has been catching my attention recently, i liked the Heroes of Mana soundtrack (the tracks of the last few chapters mostly). Also, Yoko Shimomura did the soundtrack for the upcoming Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!! and i don't know about any of you, but I've heard that final boss track, and my god, it wipes the floor with every other FB track I've heard so far.

Warning! Minor spoilers, play this video at your own risk.

Shimomura still doesn't beat Kondo though ;)

How technical is your game?

Haha, yes, I was well aware this would likely be the result before I posted.  It's not that terrible or anything.  It's like being told, "Well the Ferrarri 599 GTB was sold, so you'll have to settle for the Ferrari F430."  Nostalgia will play a big role in this, as a lot of people grew up with Koji Kono seeing Joe Hisaishi for the first time.  However, I talked to a guy with a bachelors in music (and his masters in English), and he agreed with me.

Joe Hisaishi, but not for scoring Miyazaki's films. For scoring Takeshi Kitano's films. Although his score for Nausicaa was incredible as well.

You guys are right on the dot. They both might be good, but I was just about to say Koji Kondo hands down, just because I have never heard of Joe Hisaishi or his works. And I see most people here said other composers instead of them...

I'll just reserve my judgement for now until I familiarise with Joe here... I may take a while...

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

So we hae a winner then?
