Forums - Sony - Games need separate platinum trophies for single player and multiplayer.

Some people don't really get into multiplayer that much.  I've long ago lost the patience to deal with people who obviously have way more time than me to spend online.  It's just not that fun for me.  Also, sometimes you buy a game after the online community has pretty much dried up.  That's how Quantum of Solace has become I'm told.  IMO, there should be separate platinum trophies for people who only want to get all of the single player trophies.  I've finally decided to go for my 1st platinum trophy and my only option is going to be Uncharted.  No multiplayer at all.

How about 1 platinum for every 29 trophies???

If a game has 58 standard trophies, it can have 2 platinums. After you get half you get 1 plat.

For a game that has online and offfline, this could work well. I could also see this working well for long RPG's.

4 ≈ One

No, no and no. Its fine the way it is, more people love online than dislike it

Im with you! Or atleast remove trophies that forces you to rely on others, like "have 50 players play your level in LBP". Or trophies that requires "insert number here" many PSN friends to be achievable, like "play a ranked game with three of your PSN friends on the same team" bla bla bla... I WANT MY 100% on 3 on 3 NHL DAMN YOU!

It's OK for trophies to be hard, but no trophy should ever be impossible to get.  When the online component of a game fizzles, it becomes literally impossible to get the related trophies.  How would you address this issue?

Yeah, my problem is that not all trophies are based off of my skills. I don't want to have to rely on other people to get me trophies; I'd rather they're all based on something that I can do by myself. And I'm not a huge fan of all the online trophies for games. I'm not the best online gamer out there, and basing a trophy on something that requires insane amounts of time in online play is just annoying. Some online trophies are fine, but some of them are just ridiculous. (See Create trophy in LBP)

Wanted the trophy should have bought it and played onine when the game released. And yeah it sucks.

Some games just aren't worth the full $60 price, but are plenty of fun at a lower price.  I recently got Quantum of Solace for under $30 and I'm enjoying it, but the online community just isn't there anymore from what I'm told.  I'm really not interested in trying it anyway, but the game helps me illustrate my point.  What good are trophies that become literally impossible to get?

i agree. like the Resistance 2 trophies
10,000 kills in online competitive mode. That makes me not even wanna try gettin the trophies for it. Why try for trophies if u ain't gonna get the platinum

I would have to agree. You should also be able to get them without getting the trophies you can only get with DLC. Not sure if you can do that already, never got close to a platinum trophy.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy
