Forums - Sony - My PS3 sometimes stops reading BlueTooth devices, why?

Within the past two weeks there have been three times now when my PS3 has stopped accepting any input from BlueTooth devices: my SIXAXIS, DS3, BlueTooth remote control adapter, and BlueTooth remote.

I can turn on the PS3 just fine by pressing the power button on it, but I can't turn it on with any of my controllers or remotes and when it is on, the controllers won't connect and the remotes won't control anything.  The only way to get it to start accepting BlueTooth devices again is to completely unplug the PS3 from the wall, wait about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

After that, everything works normally again.

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know why this happens?

No..it only happens when PS3 crashes..just use the USD cable which automatically syncs it back

Because it hates you

Crap, actually, I think my PS3 is about to die. ;_;

Last night while playing Uncharted (trying to get the platinum trophy, I want at least one) I noticed every now and then the screen flickering to gray so I stopped playing it for the night. I just started it back up and the flickers are back (though not nearly as bad) but now the screen went black for a few seconds and then came back in.

It's not hot back there at all, I think it just might be its time.

So I guess another question: I have an 80gig with full BC and 4 USB ports, I still get that back if I send it in for repairs correct?

you have your PS3 set to allow the controllers to activate it right??? and it set to auto sync with registered blue tooth devices??

I think this did happen to me a few months ago, but nothing since the newer updates.

Not sure what causes it, but it could be interference from wireless devices close by.  The USB cable will auto-sync it back up again though.

Edit: You do get the same model, sometimes the same PS3, back from repairs.

that doesn't sound like a PS3 problem at all....never heard of that you sure it isnt your TV or the cables not being plugged in??

The screen going black might be the cables but the gray flashes usually mean a burnt out graphics card.

When the gray flashes happened last night I had hoped maybe it was just the random bug because I did restart the game before quitting and it seemed to work fine but I did also have my PS3 on just about all day either playing games or watching movies.  It didn't feel too hot back there but it's not in an as ventilated place as before either (still should be ventilated enough though).

I just some research on this issue, i your PS3 is not broke, it has to do with resolution settings or a bad HDMI cable

How many wall power sockets are you using for your entertainment setup? You may just be pulling too much juice from the wall which could be causing you problems.
