These would be once in a lifetime. It would be history and cannot be changed. Developers come and go, exclusives are stolen, and then shared.. nothing is concrete.

So it must be new hardware of some kind.

I don't see why it can't be Software..Though a "Slim" 360 would be awesome....A handheld not so much....I would bet it's Software

Major Nelson is not the kind of guy who likes to make promises he can't keep. This might be something really huge. It is hard not to get hyped, but I try to stay calm. Don't know if they consider this camera-stuff to be THAT huge. We will see.

Things I would like to see, just for the reaction on the internets:

MS bought Square Enix or
MS bought Epic or
MS bought Capcom or
MS bought Konami or
MS bought Bethesda or
MS bought UbiSoft or
MS bought TakeTwo or
MS bought Rockstar

:D I know, this is NOT gonna happen, but the meltdown would the best thing I have experienced online.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I don't think any of these things are out of the realm of possibilty. Software companies are strapped for cash and MS may have decided now was the time to buy.

But I think more in line with MS current business strategy is the purchase of various high end exclusive games. MS seams to be moving towards 2nd party software teams where the companies keep their independence but develop mostly for MS.

Any of these developers high end games could be coming to the 360 as an exclusive for this year, I think that is what Major Nelson is trying to suggest.

you do know that take-two owns rockstar right(question mark) but i would love for them to purchase take-two/rockstar or squeenix just to see the sony fanboys die

I thought they would have a contract for another 5-years-partnership? Anyway, MS buying them and make LA Noire, Bioshock2 and most important GTA a Xbox360 exclusive would be hilarious. The internet would stop in this moment.

yeah,but if microsoft buys them then they immediately gain control over all the ips. and btw la noire is just being published by rockstar. not being developed
