They are putting that amount of advertising out for a 2010 release? Is this blowing your load a little early? I would have thought viral marketing and teaser trailers for most of 2009 with mainstream ads swinging in a couple of months before release date.

Yeah it seems a little pre-emptive to me as well. I can't remember how earlly they started advertising FFVII though since it is probally the only other FF that 13 will match in advertsising revenue in America at least.

Yea, that's why I said it.
But you don't see western game developers using Japanese looking characters in their games. Certainly not often or as main characters.
And it's not only the blond Germanic type they use like Snow, but Squall is also a Germanic dude, with brown hair. (Germanic = Norwegian, Swedish, Dutch, Danish, German and some others.)

That is because games are based of Western fantasy with a hint of Japanese influences. The exception is the futuristic games, but they probably didn't want to change their character diversity. Also Cloud, and Tidus both look japanese to me feature-wise, just with light hair and eyes. Vaan doesn't look human to me. Just Kidding. I don't know what vaan looks.

Edit: Germanic may be used as a classification of Nordic peoples, but it is in reality a classification of a sub family in the Indo-European language group. It includes languages such as English,German, Dutch, as well as others. In reality a somebody could be Germanic, yet don't have light features like blonde hair and blue eyes.
