Montana, what similar offering have these companies you mentioned offered? To my knowledge, this is the first live quiz game, replete with prizes and host, playable by anyone.

I was wondering the same thing..and he told me something about Soda and candy...Wierd...

Maybe you should have looked at your own post, which I was responding to. Companies like Hersheys and Coca Cola constantly offer prizes with their products, that you have a small chance of winning. Never caused a huge uptick in sales.

But also in my post i said I had no idea if it will boost hardware....All i'm trying to simply say is that this will be Big on Xbox ive

Okay, well just show me a game based off a game show that has moved huge software numbers (and hardware to boost!) and I'll be convinced. Shouldn't be too hard for such a well thought out argument, right?

I can't point my finger to any other game thats been done like this before. Also those games cost money, whereas by being essentially free its a matter of how much adoption the game gets and how much people value it. By simply adding value to the console it would sell systems. The real question of course is how much?

Tease.

1v100 is fun, but a system seller it is not.

It all depends on how it's marketed... This is a unique thing, not somethign that's been done before. Could be huge.

Believing in the PLAYSTATION®3......IS.......S_A_C_R_I_L_E_G_E

You can't compare this to any other gameshow game. This is just stupid. Here are some reasons:

  • It is free!
  • It is all about online gaming
  • You can use your avatar
  • It will be perfectly integrated in Xbox Live and the NXE
  • Microsoft will advertise this
  • You can win real prizes
  • It is a first for a whole new chapter of Xbox Live --> Xbox Live primetime.
  • There are some great partners that use this as a platform to show their products (you can win a car in Germany for example - A BMW mini)

This is not like a gameshow game before, this something new to the industry.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

This is the only videogame besides scene it and lips that my girlfriend has ever been interested in enough to buy for herself. She is considering getting her own gold account just to play. I don't know if this will have much of an effect in the traditional 18-30 year old male market, but I see a lots of potential to create interest in the non-traditional gaming markets. This could also really set off the Primetime channel on xbox live if it succeeds.

You can play gameshows for real prizes on gambling sites, deal or no deal for example, and they haven't exactly taken the world by storm. Granted, they aren't free, but then neither is this

yeah, but if you lose this you don't lose any actual money

Didn't you make a similar thread last year, Squilliam, suggesting that the NXE could be a system seller?

Ultimately, no one buys home consoles for a user interface or a gameshow.

100 vs 1? Never heard.
And I usually know these.
So think what other gamers think unlike me who surfs on gaming sites.
