Forums - Microsoft - 100 vs 1 is one of the most important exclusives/system sellers in 2009?

I don't think that many people understand what a system selling exclusive actually means. I think thats why people are continually disapointed by hardware sales boosts which don't exactly pan out as expected. To really sell systems a game has to be unique enough and marketable enough to draw people to choose one console over another or buy a console when they would have otherwise not. Mediocre simply doesn't cut it, and neither does cookie cutter.

I have no idea how the game itself will turn out, but the positive impressions from beta testers is a good sign. The game itself does satisfy pretty much all the criteria I can think of for a true system selling exclusive. Game shows and quizes are something that a wide audience can enjoy, it has an interesting spin and there are real prizes given away, its free (Aside from the cost of the gold subscription), and its fun from what I can tell. So in all it looks like it increases the value proposition of Xbox 360 hardware/Live Gold. So assuming that the game ends up along the very good -> excellent range it should be a system seller.

Well thats pretty much straight forward really, its my personal judgement so what do you think?

Tease.

well, how nightstrikerx explains it as, it sounds pretty awesome!

It is a great and underrated value added to the Xbox360. This will be the first game I play with my dad, mom and girlfriend. It could move consoles but it will move live subscriptions.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Okay, well just show me a game based off a game show that has moved huge software numbers (and hardware to boost!) and I'll be convinced. Shouldn't be too hard for such a well thought out argument, right?

i agree with the OP but i dont think it will be too much of a hardware booster mostly just live subscriptions. And its probably not going to make many people who dont already own a 360 get one. IMO this would be alot better on the wii

the game would suffer way too much, becuase of the lack of a xbox live

Unlike other games based of games shows...1 vs 100 on LIVe will be an actual Game Show were people win real prizes...and for the bost of harware...I'm not sure...It will be an explosion on XBL I would be willing to bet that...

Still not convinced. Companies do this all the time, for soda, candy, etc. It doesn't cause a huge upsurge in sales. This isn't going to sell systems or move huge numbers, and if you don't believe me, just wait until it comes out. People will hype just about anything nowadays.

Soda, Candy and Games?

And I said I was  not sure about it moving hardware...But If you doubt this will big on XBL...I'm willing to bet you on that..

Yeah, I remember now how well who wants to be a millionaire (popular in Europe if it isn't known in the states) did on the Nintendo DS and how that similar type of game did. DS sold stellar after that.

Oh wait, I had to much booze in the hot sun today. The game hardly did anything, even after we all had high hopes and that game got released to an audience that is as casual as casual friday. Anyway, I am returning to my barbeque while I am sure some hot flames will be tosted to me here in interweb land 2.0. I'll be having my hamburger with garlic sauce in the mean time
