I don't think that many people understand what a system selling exclusive actually means. I think thats why people are continually disapointed by hardware sales boosts which don't exactly pan out as expected. To really sell systems a game has to be unique enough and marketable enough to draw people to choose one console over another or buy a console when they would have otherwise not. Mediocre simply doesn't cut it, and neither does cookie cutter.
I have no idea how the game itself will turn out, but the positive impressions from beta testers is a good sign. The game itself does satisfy pretty much all the criteria I can think of for a true system selling exclusive. Game shows and quizes are something that a wide audience can enjoy, it has an interesting spin and there are real prizes given away, its free (Aside from the cost of the gold subscription), and its fun from what I can tell. So in all it looks like it increases the value proposition of Xbox 360 hardware/Live Gold. So assuming that the game ends up along the very good -> excellent range it should be a system seller.
Well thats pretty much straight forward really, its my personal judgement so what do you think?
Tease.
