Hey all who have played VC, I got a couple of questions about the plot of VC, and asking you guys seemed easier than reading a FAQ

Word on the street is that VC is set during the 2nd Europan war (ie WW2) and the protagonist is fighting on the side of the western Alliance or something against an Empire that represents Germany et al. 

From what I know, the game goes on to blame pseudoGermany for both the First and Second Europan wars? 

So, is the above a true representation of the game, or have I been misinformed?

Actually the protagonist's country tried to stay neutral in a war between two major super powers who both strive for world domination.

It's not as easy as that one represents Germany.

I don't remember the Empire being blamed for the first Europan War, but they were definitely involved in some way.

The protagonists are as Non-gravity mentioned, a smaller neutral country that is stuck between two conglomerates of nations at war. Most of the game is spend fighting the Empire, but they don't have any love for the alliance either and their duplicitous tactics. Pretty sure duplicitous works their, but lets just reiterate by calling them sneaky

You definitely should bug your friend for it, and then I won't have to watch you say that FE should "clearly win for SRPG category"

Almost started a really dumb argument about game quality based on that statement you made in the classic games thread :P

Well guys above already explained about protagonist situation.

So I'll add on resemblance to Germany.

Basically Empire is a mix of WWI and WW II Germany:

The country is monarchy like WW I Germany.

Uniforms and equipment is similar to WW I German.

They are shooting escaping civilians like WW II Germans.

They have concetration camps like WW II Germany.

They have mass genocide project set on eliminating single race - exactly like Germans did in WW II.
