Forums - Nintendo - Call of Duty WAW: a good game hidden in a weird shell?

I find myself liking this Call of Duty:World at War. Even loving it. Whenever I turn on that Wii, I always have the urge to play this game over the others in my game collection. Those headshots are very satisfying...

But there seems to be some things weird about this game. It might just be me but the single player and multiplayer play significantly different. Activision was smart with sticking that "Online interactions not rated by the ESRB" on the box but this goes beyond a simple difference in difficulty. There is such a difference in the aiming and movement compared to the multiplayer that I was like a fish out of water when I went back to playing the single player campaign after long sessions of multiplayer.

I also seem to be experiencing a lot of latency lag while playing. It's not that the lag is consistent (that's what I really want) but that it keeps jumping around. I really would've appreciated it, Activision, if you could've improved the netcode or at least allow regional filtering. I hope The Conduit is better in this regard!

Overall, they're not enough to prevent me from coming back. Damn you, Activision, you could've done so much better! :(

I find it the complete opposite ; A shit game hidden by a great brand name.
I'l maybe explain why later

I recently finished the 360 sp campaign and found it to be a excellent game.
Mind you I am a fan of WW2 games.

Why do you have all those spaces between paragraphs?
Anyway I don't really like WW2 games.

I was wondering the same thing, actually.   I originally had only one space between paragraphs but it seems to have changed during the posting process.

I'll admit myself that I'm kind of sick of WWII games in general. WaW seems to have a very addictive multiplayer, though, and I could really care less for its appearance. It would be awesome if Modern Warfare 2 makes its way to Wii!

You have to wait for the screenshots to load.

Those are the coolest headshots I've ever seen, Vertigo.

I think if it came out before Call of Duty 4 then I would think it was a great game. But I was expecting a game as good as CoD4 so I don't care for this one that much.

I've Only played it a couple of times with my friend but it was only single player online, so we had to switch every game.

WaW Wii is a great game. It's not hiding under anything.
