I got the RROD once, it was because the power cord wasn't plugged in properly.

That's not RRoD. That's just a joke from M$. They point a gun to your head and make you give in to their demands, only for a "BANG!" flag to come out when they pull the trigger. Then they really pull the trigger when you get the real RRoD. It's kind of like the Joker's finisher in MK vs DCU lol

Mine did that 3 times over 2 days while playing conan and miraculosly came back to life. It lasted another 6 months or so before the real thing happened. I think the move from dry cool Idaho to humid hot Texas did it in. Its good to be back home though.

From the way you are all responding I have a feeling I'll have to make another in.. Oh... Say about 2 months?
I have heard about this before though, I hope it was just an electrical fluke and not the beginning stages of a real RRoD.

@ pullus

I really can't tell if you saw the part about it not really dying yet :-/

Just because someone prefers their PS3 doesn't mean they don't have a 360. Case in point: me

No they get the YLOD instead, albeit it a LOT less frequently than the 360.  Funnily enough both the YLOD and RROD both tend to be GPU related as a reflow on them tends to sort both issues in the vast majority of cases.  Lead free solder has really cocked up electrical items reliability since it's introduction.
