Forums - Microsoft - Halo 3 Player review (Nice read with no spoilers)

I have seen it run..... it has nothing to be ashame in front of GOW and Bioshock is totally different kind of environement... so it's hard to compare.... of what I have seen though...... KZ2 will have to make a gigantic leap from KZ1 to get close from Halo 3 not only in terms graphics lightning but the rest of the experience too..... my biggest fear for KZ2 is the AI and the tunnel effect when you play (like in doom 3 or GOW or a lot of FPSs)
well I knew Halo 3 would kick ass on every level.... I didn't expect it to be that great though.... they set a new standard right there... now I have to check out the story....

"The new Theater option lets players edit the recordings of every part of the game, from the single player to the Forge. It is a simple way to show off some of the game's memorable moments from single player, the intense firefights that can break out during coop, and some of those “You should've seen it!” multuplayer moments. You can also take screenshots directly from the video feed, sharing it and the videos you create over Xbox Live."

I'm very glad that you can actually up screens and edit videos.

Disappointing that it only comes in at 6-8 hours. I expect more from Halo.

9.0 on graphics but "the best on X360"?

Kinda odd...Either Halo3 isn't the best, or he's just cracked out.

Hopefully legitimate (ie IGN, GS, ect) reviews will be similar.

You obviously missed the "some of" in front of the part you quoted.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Actually 6-8 hours is par for all of the games in the Halo series. Usually the replay value more then makes up for it. With three true difficulties, four player Co-op, and a flexible scheme the average player should find a lot of main game time. Each of those should radically effect the experience. Playing with friends, or fighting truly more intelligent foes then the first go through should be a interesting experience. That will beg the player to take it for another spin.

Do people actually look for bullet holes in Halo. I am usually far too busy saving myself from a shield depleted death, or trying desperately to find cover from a dozen opponents. Not a feature missed if it gives me another three frames a minute. Which is an absolute must for a perfect experience.

Play it on legendary.  The hardest difficulty onHalo 2 added about 4 hours to the time it took me to finish the game.  Still your right, i was hoping for 8-10 on normal.

To  be honest I didnt, I always saw this game as a multiplayer game piggy backing a single player campaign.

A good review. I'm disappointed with 6-8 hours as well, but I suppose co-op makes up for that to some extent.

YEah thats right co-op will be amazing. I have a mate coming around Tuesday early (getting the game at midnight launch) and we are going through the whole campaign co-op.
