wrong this site is privately owned, their is no free speech here

most of the internet is like this

I'm not going to comment on the piracy, but modders? What they are doing is neither illegal nor morally wrong. People should be allowed to use hardware they bought for any purpose within the law.

I agree, and I should clarify.  I mean people that modify their consoles to enable and take advantage of piracy.

You can't ban people for what they do in their homes, but you are right they should not promote it here. the promoting of it should get them banned and this should go for anything illegal.

So what if someone lives in a country where there is no right to free speech? The internet is a worldwide device, not something limited to a select number of nations. Regarding the thread, I think we should punish people who admit to pirating or modding. Yeah, it's strict, but I don't want a bunch of pirates on this site anyways. The community should be made up of real gamers who represent the gaming market, not thieves.

Dumbest thing I've ever heard. You can't even prove it even if they claim they're pirates.

Leave the morality police on GameFAQs with the rest of the scum.

Only when we also ban ninja's

I agree, if we are going to ban trolls we should also ban other fictional beings such as ninjas, pirates, goblins, fairies, giant rabbits, and sadly Santa will have to go as well under this plan unless he can provide receipts for all of the games he allegedly "purchased" for children.  Or did he "make" those in the workshop as well?  Cause if he did I call that PIRACY! And we can't allow pirates!

You hear that Santa? Pack up your crap and get the F@^k out!

Who said we need to prove it?  It's not about stopping piracy that exists, it's about avoiding doing anything to assist the spread of piracy.  If someone is admitting too and advocating piracy, they are directly contravening the interests, purposes and passions of VGChartz and the vast majority of it's community.
