So now that I've finished a few games and actually have some trophies, how do I see what level I am?  I see wherre trophies are but I can't see how many I have of each and what level I am.

I can find my username under users and press triangle but there it just wants me to edit my name and picture.

All the way to the right in the XMB, when you first enter there, you should see your own username. Click it.

Nevermind, I found it under friends list.

I know I'm going to get reemed for sounding like a Sony hater for saying this, but that's a pretty retarded place to put it.  Why would I look under friends to find myself?

But level 3 I guess with 59 trophies. 

I actually go to my friends list, click on my own name to see my lvl.

The trophies icon above the game your playing is were you see what trophies you have.

But I agree with you, the PSN isn't very well integrated into the XMB.

It just seemed like it would make more sense if they put that with your actual trophy collection.  Why should I have to go to two different sub menus if I want to look at my total trophies/levels and if I want to look at my individual trophies?

I think you just hit "X" on your profile name.
It gets annoying when you try to send someone a message and you go to his/her trophy display .

Im glad i left my ps3 just as trophies came in, they sound like a right pain!
