Forums - Nintendo - IGN gets their hands on MotionPlus…and loving it

Really? I thought ALL games would take advantage by WM+, tha's a bad news (for me)! Wii Sport Tennis would be better with this support, it sometimes do the wrong movement, and also other games...why cannot they do it for all games, just adding better reading of movement?? It's a good thing for Wii but they could have done it better in my opinion...

Let's try an analogy. Would you expect SNES games to be improved by using a controller with an analogue thumbstick instead of a D-pad? They couldn't be, because none of them were programmed to use analogue input. It simply wasn't a consideration when Street Fighter or Super Mario World were being programmed.

In the same way, no Wii game released before WM+ will know what to do with orientation input, because it simply wasn't a type of input which was available when these games were being designed and programmed. WM+ doesn't simply enhance the accuracy of the wiimote's accelerometers, it has gyroscopes which actually provide a competely different type of input.

Correct, but thinking we can say that they could make up a package to download on wii memory to include the missing code for games which not support WM+ now. It's a difficult thing to do, and i think they would loose money doing so, but if you want something programming you can do anything (i want to be a programmer, so i know a bit of the topic, you can do what you want if you want it and have enaugh money and hardware...). But i still consider WM+ a great thing for Wii!
