   I've tried playing some MH game recently on my friend's PSP. I dunno which one it was, the one where you play in a snowy area (in mountains)

   I couldnt get into it either. I like the idea of monster hunting, collecting trophies and all that and it's cool that all equipment appears on your character. But something about this game just felt off, it wasnt very fun playing, although I havent played much of it.

   Plus there was a buttload of tutorials, that is a big turn off. Seriously, if Capcom wants to make that series popular here they need to change a lot of things about it.

Gears sold 5 million because only casual games sell on the Xbox360.

 

Monster Hunter is an acquired taste, most of the fun comes from the immersion if your playing alone, but the curve is steep to appreciate that, if your not willing to be hardcore (real hardcore) then you my friend will fail, and never get high score EVER.

I can't bold because I'm on a proxy, but I clearly said "That doesn't mean they don't have their share of weird infomercials and weird shit." And I'm confused by what you meant "Whether you choose to recognize this or not is irrelevant". Is it that you don't care that I recognize that Japan has things I consider to be weird, or what? There's no such thing as a weird culture in the objective, universal sense. Only on a subjective, personal level.
