Gears sold 5 million because only casual games sell on the Xbox360.
Monster Hunter is an acquired taste, most of the fun comes from the immersion if your playing alone, but the curve is steep to appreciate that, if your not willing to be hardcore (real hardcore) then you my friend will fail, and never get high score EVER.
