Somebody should play like an hour of inFamous when it comes out and post a terrible review of it, watch how angry and up-in-arms infamous8 gets about it.

I mean come on, infamous8, your review is worthless. You even said you have only had the game since this morning. Wow, hell of a lot of time to really learn its nuances and master the controls.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Also...about what youre saying about headkicks. You are wrong. I've already won 5 matches in a row simply doing headkick, headkick, headkick, headkick, headkick, etc. until the other guy is KO'ed. It's a garaunteed victory every time in Exhibition mode when you use a kick boxer.

why don't you try playing against a real person online then?

I tell you, I've had my friend try the same exact thing and I kicked his ass all over the place. Playing against the CPU can be a bugged experience, I admit. Try playing against a human. You'll realize that your statement is nonsense.

EDIT: try playing against a human WITH some knowledge about the game. you'll get your ass kicked spamming headkick or any other one move.

Online is only 50% of the game.

Career mode is the other 50%. And I'm currently 8-0 doing headkick over headkick over headkick, and winning every match that way. It's so bad.

Hence, 50% of the game has already become boring and repetitive. Yay!

On the subject of career mode.... howcome you can only use Created fighters? This is really lame. Again, I hate to compare games to other games as I believe they should be judged on their own. But seriously, FNR3 came out years ago and set the precedent for these types of games.

You could use real fighters in career mode. It had southpaw fighters. It had parrying. It had bobbing and weaving to avoid punches. Why isn't ANY of that in this UFC game? THQ had more than ample time to develop this game (bought the rights almost 3 years ago IIRC??) and it comes across as a very unpolished and rush game.

TC, I respect that you came at me in a decent way. But even you will have to admit the animations in this game are terrible and repetitive. In Madden games, there are dozens and dozens of different tackling animations. In this game, there is ONE animation for each takedown (single leg, double leg, etc)

Maybe you should try and change the difficulty settings for exhibition mode. Cuz your high kicks arent always gonna work.

Currently Playing: KILLZONE 2, UFC 2009, Ragdoll KungFu, and Valkryia Chronicles

To infamous8... i also started 8-0 but lost my next 2 fights on career mode. It depends on the fights you choose. The fights get harder. And also you need to change the difficulty settings on exhibition mode. Yes theres some flaws but its fun and challenging. Especially when you have friends and family in the room to play with you. We all know that the computers always has flaws. But if your that great at high kicks play it on the highest difficulty setting and try and win 5 in a row.

i'm not only talking about online. i'm talking about playing against a real human, which, to me (and i guess most players), constitutes more than 80% of the game time, because playing against the CPU is just practice for the real reason you actually buy this game:

to play with your friends and beat them up.

and if you play with your friends side by side and they know how to play too, your styles are really going to mix and you'll be countering each other on a daily basis. again, i agree with you about the cpu can be bugged at times, as the AI isn't perfect, but if you play against a real human, you'll really feel the game at it's best. in fact, if you try playing against the higher difficulty settings, you'll find that your one trick pony doesn't work there either.

about career mode, i actually agree with the fact you can't use known fighters. what sense would it make to have GSP to go into the ultimate fighter house? It doesn't.

I also agreed about the graphics and animations being substandard. But to me, that's nothing compared to the gameplay options that are in the game, and the balance is wonderful.

About Fight Night Round 3. My bro-in law would just block and weave real quick for the whole fight and just counter. Wat fun is that. I cant explain how he does it but its impossible to get a punch in. Now thats cheap.

It doesnt take long to figure out if a game is good or bad.

I actually wanted to like this game a lot. I love MMA and UFC. But reality struck. This game is not a good representation of MMA.

I popped the game in this morning....

I went to the classic fights section. Dissappointment. There list of "classics" is PATHETIC. Shogun vs Griffin was classic? Yeah, riiiiiiiight. Go to an MMA forum, or talk to a hardcore MMA fan in real life and they will laugh in your face if you say Shogun vs Griffin was a classic.

I went to Create a fighter mode. Dissappointment. Can't make my fighter a southpaw. Limited hairstyles. Limited clothing options. Limited fighting styles. There's absolutely no excuse for their CAF to have less options than FNR3, considering FNR3 came out so many years ago. The only explanation is, once again, they had to RUSH THIS GAME OUT.

The Menus are terrible. The music is repetitive. You hear the same 4 songs over and over and over. Even IGN critisized this.

Career Mode is lame. You "spar" with a guy for 2 minutes. LOL. Some mini games like FNR3 wouldve been perfect. And if you are getting mad that I keep using FNR3 as an example - READ THIS: They completely copied Career Mode from FNR3, but didn't make it as good. If youre going to copy something, atleast make it equal to that product which came out so long ago.

Do you think every fighter in UFC started in the Ultimate Fighter house?

No. The majority of them did not. You must seriously be a newb to MMA if you think that. EVERY fighter (excluding Brock Lesnar) started out in small rinky dinky organizations that most ppl have never heard of, and had to work their way up the ranks. That's what career mode should be like in this game.

Also - LOL@ Madison Square Garden being included in the arenas in this game. UFC and MMA are BANNED in NYC and have NEVER been to Madison Square Garden.

So why did they include this in the game? Because MSG is in the WWE games IIRC. I might be wrong as I havent played too many WWE games recently, but if I'm right.... that REALLY shows how lazy the developers were for this game.

wrong. you actually need time with this game to understand it because it's not just a stand up fighting game. there are so many things you can do here and so many interactions you gotta understand about the other guy.

you're complaining about classic fights section? nitpick. nothing to do with making the game bad. that's just the dev's opinion. if you want to make your own classic fights, go ahead. the game lets you mix any two fighters against each other.

your complaints about the options in create a fighter about the look are correct, they are limited. but the fighting style you can implement is not limited at all. you can fight any which way you want..

want to be a striker?

want to be a wrestler?

want to be a submission artist?

want to be a clinch machine?

want to be all those things rolled into one?

want to be a counter puncher?

etc.

you can be anything you want, IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN THE CONTROLS. that's why this is a game you NEED TO TAKE TIME TO UNDERSTAND.
