I did replace the ink cartridges to see if that was the problem, but there's no tape over the nozzle, and the problem was around before that.

Um... you have three printers that are all unable to print properly and the problem has been around "before?"  At what point do you say "Maybe I should see what's going on here?"

Anyway, print a test page and see what you get.

Two days ago, I first noticed the problem (hadn't had to print anything for a long time, and the printers weren't hooked up).  Yesterday, I replaced the ink cartridges in case they ALL happened to be empty, but the problem persisted.

It looks like it's the model number thing that Epoch mentioned... I may have to order new cables...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Be sure you look at the model number the user manual suggests and get that exact one.  Printer cables all look almost identical, and fit the same ports, but the difference is in the pins.  Its a pain in the ass if you have the wrong one, and causes weird problems.

When this happened to me, we were opening a retail store and as soon as we plugged the cable into the computer, it started spewing out reels of "???@!?@!?#@?%@?^>^@?%?#@$" as fast as it could print.  And we were using the cable that came with the printer.  They mismatched the cable and printer at their outlet.  Took a while to figure out.

Happy cable hunting!

Surely the ip2000 connects via USB?

You said you haven't used them in a long time maybe the print heads have clogged up and need replacing...how did you check them?
