Well, well, now its starting to look like a PS3 game. :)

Man I feel bad for CGI. I am extreamly unimpressed, and I was probably only 3/4 as exited about this game as him. I can not imagine the pain he must be suffering.
From this showing all I see is;
Good
-The game will have a very unique story branching system, but it is unproven and could be either amazing or crap.
Bad
-Middle of the road graphics.
-Crappy boring gameplay.
-A pathetic story that is nothing like what has been hyped so far.
Seriously. This is what they call a mature story that breaks the stereotypes about games? That preview alone showed everything that pushes games to something of a Joke.
I am still interested in playing the demo from E308, but this has put this game in a list I have never used. I have been searching for news about this game for over two years, and now I suddenly have lost all care. Based on what I have seen Uncharted and MGS4 have pushed story telling furthur than this preview even suggests that Heavy Rain will do. What a shity thing to have to go to sleep to.

I just want to make sure I make it clear.
I will be buying Heavy Rain no matter what happens, just like I will always support anything Silicon Knights does.
Developers like David Cage, and Dennis Dyack deserve more respect in my book than most other big name dircetors. As Cage said in his interview with 1up, "It is time this idustry starts working on new ideas instead of new technologies.:
That is why we need to go to a one console standard in the future. This crap of platform holders driving the industry into the grond has got to stop. Developers need a open platform were everyone interested in gaming can experiance their vision. I personally am starting to feel the effect David described were I feel like the content is just not reaching for my life experiance level. I am only 21 years old, and already I am starting to see that games are just built around what is cool. To me that is BS, and I will not stick around if this is the way the industry is going to progress. I want developers to be able to go out and build something that they truly have a desire for instead of Shooter ?, Mario ?, or Racer ?.
I just need to go to bed, I am to wacked out right now.

well, the fighing scene are indeed AVERAGE
the way the guy escape from the gun, the way he catches the foot of the guy when he is down : this look non realistic
I dont even mention the way he kills the guy : the "cracky" sound of his body and his scream are not enought loud and long : he should not dye quickly and suffer a lot !!!
Final point, the face of the agent was just unexpressive to me, I mean, where was the fear ?
The big guy was good.
Time to Work !
Well the gameplay looked decent but either way I will be playing this game.
YAY for rentals!
Τhis game is gonna be a HUGE CGI movie with some quick time events and some button pressing here and there.
Emotional evolved? Yeah, like the guitar mini game in Fahrenheit or the desperate "jumping the fence as a little kid" thing...
As for the visuals. I better be wrong, but they just seem mediocre to me...
Yeah, yeah, I know, it is real time graphics. So what? Can you do anything during the sequences? No...
And what more do YOU know about the game than I do?
As for the emotional involvement thing, I m reffering to the producer's answer to the GTTV interview.
Indigo Prophecy was ALSO supposed to have a great-strong story, but we ended up, playing mini games. Do you understand what I mean?
Anyway, I'm not tryin to be hostile here, it is just my opinion, and I respect yours, but please, don't act like a damn "Heavy Rain" Police.
The game play seems on par to what I thought it would be. Walk around analyze things and figure a way to continue the story. Once an action starts you go into a quick time event. I don’t know if I like the whole…. You mess up and die with one character you lose out on continuing his story. I think I would rather get a Game Over and a choice at a check point then how they describe. They might have an easy load/save but then why bother with this kind of game design?
I was happy with the graphics and they boast having that great story and how you will feel emotionally attached to the characters. If that doesn’t happen will the game suck?
Makes me skeptical but I would still like to try it.
I think people need to know what genre Heavy Rain is before they say "There's no gameplay". Do games such as Myst lack game play because you can't fully control your character? Are RPGs lacking in gameplay because you have to stand in place? What about RPGs that don't even have combat?
A game doesn't necessarily need to be an action title. I'm looking at Heavy Rain, not as a fighting game, or a Splintercell/MGS4 esque game, but in fact, a game that has many gameplay elements, but without the technical gameplay mechanics.
For e.g. you have the stealth sequence we saw with the journalist girl. You don't have to be an expert at SC, nor precisely push the analogue stick so that you move fast by silently. Instead the stealth is based on common sense and logic, with you deciding if you're going to go for the garrage, or wait for the guy to move (and where to hide). The game also borrows from horror games (I never played RE but I'm assuming it also borrows some horror game elements).
I hope it'll be mostly dialogue based, and getting clues about the character. If the guy that works in the dump sounds suspicious, and you catch on it, you'll be making sure to not put yourself in a vulnerable position. You'll try to build trust with other people, etc.
Don't worry about the QTE, that's not going to be the main gameplay. The main gameplay is dialogue, and using common sense to assess situations.
