Forums - Sales - A possible reason why third parties prefer non Nintendo consoles

What? You think this is a response to another thread? No... but in some way... yes.

First, let's take a look at the top 10 selling first party games on two carefully cherrypicked consoles. Bear in mind which console has the largest userbase.

Lol@ bolded!

Cherry-picked is right.  You've merely copied the other thread.  I wonder if the creator will show up to defend his weak points.

@Alic0004: Your point?  GC's top ten first-party titles almost add up to PS2's top ten first-party titles.  And that's over how many years and how many more times the userbase?

Bolero: I thought you were comparing the gamecube to the PS3, not the PS2.

*edit* wait a sec, you WERE comparing it to the PS3... look at your post.

^^I looked...and I did not find what you claim.  I wrote PS2 in my post.

Yeah that's great for last gen, but so far this gen is a beast with its first party games. Top PS3 games published by Sony

1. Resistance - 3.59
2. Motorstorm - 3.48
3. GT5P - 3.02
4. Uncharted - 2.34
5. LBP - 2.19
6. Killzone 2 - 1.59
7. Resistance 2 - 1.54
8. Ratchet & Clank - 1.47
9. Heavenly Sword - 1.36
10. Singstar - 0.84

So far this gen, after only 2.5 years and only a 21 million userbase to work; with 9 of Sony's top 10 selling games are million sellers. Imagine what it will be after 9 years like the PS2 is almost at.

So while your arguement is great for a solution if it was last gen, it doesn't really count this gen... except for with the 360 which has 12 million sellers after 3.5 years and a 30 million userbase. Not much better than Sony.

The GC first party 2 million seller list with less userbase than the PS3

1.- Super Smash Bros Melee - 7.08

2.- Mario Kart: Double Dash!! - 6.96

3.- Super Mario Sunshine - 6.28

4.- The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - 4.55

5.- Luigi´s Mansion - 3.53

6.- Animal Crossing - 2.99

7.- Metroid Prime - 2.83

8.- Pokemon Colosseum - 2.54

9.- Mario Party 4 - 2.47

10.- Mario Party 5 - 2.08

11.- Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - 2.05

I'm not a scientist or anything, but I'm pretty sure those are PS3 games.

Sorry, I thought you were responding to what I said...  when you wrote...  "@Alic0004"  *looks around for more Alic0004s*

Manuelf was comparing the sales of the top ten first-party GC games to the top ten PS3 games.  You responded with: "That's over how many years, Man?"  I asked what's your point and pointed out that the sales of the top ten first-party GC titles almost match up to the top ten PS2 titles.  In short, I debunked your weak excuse.  You still with me?

Hmm, my browser is acting funny, sorry about the messy post ^^

Wait, now I get it.

Basically, when you responded you were bringing up a counter-example. I didn't understand what you were doing (my bad), because I was just asking a question about MANU's data (were the GC sales listed from a 2.5 year period or more?)... I wasn't making an argument.

Rol, since you are so good at explaining things, can you explain why the Wii didn't stop selling after all the Marioboys bought the system?

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit
11/03/09 Desposit: Mod Bribery (RolStoppable)  vg$ 500.00
06/03/09 Purchase: Moderator Privilege  vg$ -50,000.00

Wait, I pieced it together... I'm with you up to "debunked your excuse." I think  that's actually remarkable.

How does the sentence "That's over how many years, Man?" transform into an "excuse" that can be "debunked"?

You keep using this word... I do not think it means what you think it means  :)

Exacta!  Damn, I'm speaking incorrect Spanish 'cause of Bleach.  No hard feelings, just glad we're on the same page now.
