Forums - Sony - Home delayed? Sure, but the open beta? Apparently not

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163123

" When Sony announced it would be delaying Home until Spring of next year, we weren't sure how that might change plans for the beta test that was due out this Fall.

Phil Harrison, thankfully, says beta is still coming as planned, according to GameSpot. "We will still be opening in late November/early December for general beta testing," he says. "So, the commercial start of Home will be pushed out later, but you will still get the experience this year."

What a "commercial start" means is still up in the air, however, as Sony has not yet settled on a business plan for Home, most often hinting at an ad-supported revenue stream. We may see more evidence of that as the beta rolls out in a few months."

I was wondering about that open beta too. I didn't think the full version of Home would be out soon, but I did recall them saying that there would be an open beta eventually.

Hey, the good part is that they are taking their time and making sure it works.

Better to improve it than release a buggy version.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

yes I get this news too,

it is good to have The Phil Harrison gardian to help the PS3 side ...

Time to Work !

It would have been better just to set a realistic date in the first place.

Does anyone do that?

"I don't believe anyone walks into a game store with $600 in their pocket and wonders what console to buy." -President of Worldwide studios Phil Harrison "Nintendo Wii has been a successful enterprise, and a very good business compared with ours, because it's cheaper." -Sony chairman and CEO Howard Stringer

*Cough* Valve comes to mind here, lol *Cough*

That's depressing. You'd think they would try a little harder to get their stuff in order since they are kinda not selling many consoles.

Erm, that's probably why they are delaying it, because they are trying to get they're stuff in order.
