Forums - Sony - PS3 Exclusives Will Continue To Leave The Competition In The Dust

Sonys top 20 couldn't compare to Nintendos top 3 in system selling potential.

Wii Fit
Wii Sports
Mario Kart Wii

All comers, top 20 they still would come up short. In short theres nothing Sony can do even if we weighed 6 years of PS3 effort to match that.

yes selling pontential but wat about top quality games that appeal to most

"Sony is coming hard with the exclusives and they're going to continue to push the envelope. We already have MGS4 and Killzone 2, both of which are arguably - note I said "arguably," naysayers - as good or better than anything on either the 360 or Wii"

Except Killzone isn't ... it scored lower than both Halo and Gears and sold considerably less, what other metric can you use to say they are "arguably" better than anything on either the 360 or Wii .... how does a game that sells less and scores lower beat out Halo???

Does not compute.

This is the logic that we must stick to as this argument rises again with InFamous and others... "you can't call it 'better than anything, ever' if it doesn't outscore, outsell, or outperform its direct competition..."

Top quality games that appeal to most perfectly describes Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and Mario Kart Wii.

im not going to get really into it but for the Wii weres a good TPS, FPS, Sandbox, Racing with Licensed Cars, Fighting with humans, RPGs and Stealth.  Both the HDs have plenty of top quality games in every genre i dont feel the Wii does I dont feel like a harcore gamer can buy a Wii and be satasfied i feel that a casual gamer can get a PS3 and even 360 and have some games to get into( LBP, Ratchet, Banjo and Others) and slowy become & evolve to a hardcore gamer with the console and get the best of both worlds

FPS - World at War, The Conduit, Medal of Honor

TPS - Resident Evil 4

Sandbox -Bully

Fighting - Plenty but latest is Punch-out,Guilty Gear,Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

RPGs- Dokapon, Tales, FFCC, FF Chocabo, and DQX is coming

Stealth- Tenchu

Point is you clearly have no idea what you're talking about and just post articles made by ignorant people... you said quality and appeal to many people and there's nothing that touches the appeal of the games he listed...

I don't know why you forgot these games would've given even more merit to your arguement.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

Where's the PS3's go-kart racing game*?  Where's its fighting with famous video game characters game*?  Where's it's exercise sim game*?  Where's its light gun zombie game?

*These are system-sellers.

I approve of this reversal on BHR-3's argument.  I think this may be the KO punch.

For fighting he did want like normal people so I was assuming he was meaning boxing :P

I wanted to mention a game that was already out, as for Medal of Honor I wanted something that was built for the Wii not a PSP game with good Wii controls :P it was a good game but I figured he would try to bring that up like he obviously did with RE4, like it makes a difference...

So do all games that don't have realistic graphics (i.e. cartoony) suddenly make the game "casual"?  Those games still require skill (and multiple buttons on the big, bulky, intimidating controllers) and are more than just pick up and play games like a lot of Wii games are.

Consoles Owned: Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, N64, Gamecube, Wii, XBOX360

This is just starting to get sad. People need to stop defending the PS3, and just enjoy the library of games you do have. I can relate, honestly. I had a GameCube as my main console last gen. Sure, it was last in sales, often mocked by PS2/Xbox fanboys, pretty much everything the PS3 is facing. Yet, there were some solid exclusives that I wouldn't have given up for a different console. Eternal Darkness, Wind Waker, Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil Zero were among the list of unique games that were excellent.

I did not, and do not, regret my purchase, as PS3 owners shouldn't. That said, you are going to have to accept that it is too late to make a recovery to regain ground. Great games will come to the PS3 as exclusives, but don't expect a major shift of fortune to come out of hardware sales due to them. Minus for FF13, most of the big guns are out on the PS3.

This doesn't mean that "Sony is doomed!!!", Sony has a ton of money, and while it sucks to lose a bunch, they'll lick their wounds and not be such an arrogant company next generation.

As for now, you Sony supporters will go through what GameCube owners went through last generation - a bunch of games that don't find their way to your system, developers snubbing their noses at your console. Just enjoy the games you do have and stop getting upset with it falling in last place in this gen's console sales. If you're happy with the games you have, that's all you need.

@bolded

I don't even think PS3 fanboys will go through that.. 3rd party developers havn't dropped the PS3.. the only exception would be Valve who just don't want to port it their games but are willing to let others do it for them.

Poorly written article, full of speculation devoid of facts. I'm surprised N4G would let something so fanboyish be published on their site.

LOL! You have no idea how terrible N4G is. A lot of the contributors are Sony fanboys.
