Forums - Gaming - Tony Hawk: Ride exclusive to the 360 in UK

uk is the 2nd biggest games market in the world, and it likes 360, so i see what they have done here lol

The UK loves the 360, I have convinced 11 people to buy one since 2007. Its such an easy sell, deals like this only help!

I quite like the Tony Hawk games (see my games collection on that one) I just hope this balance board controller is optional.

As for UK Exclusivity; hello import. no major issue, just a longer wait perhaps; if this ever gets confirmed that is.

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

if this is fake, I bet it is the same idiot who started the whole fake Conduit review.

if it is real, I bet people in UK could do a class actin suit against microsoft for any competitive behaviour.

*COUGH* intel and it's 2BN fine in EU lol.

I bet a lawyer could build a case around it after that tragedy with intel.

Sony did it with Ghostbusters and Microsoft do it with Tony Hawk.

The UK is an important battleground and no its sales are not imports for the rest of Europe due to the weak £ as the UK was strong before the £ weakened.

Quote from Chris Lewis (Microsoft) from the GamesIndustry.biz interview in Feb.

Q: We've been hearing that with the changing currency levels, and the much weaker pound Sterling, gamers in mainland Europe are trying to buy online from the UK more - is that prompting you to look at your relative price points at all?

Chris Lewis: We're mindful of that, but it's very hard to plan too far ahead as regards foreign exchange rate fluctuations. Sterling right now is in a different place right now versus the Euro and the Dollar, and the Yen - so that which you allude to, you'd start to expect to see some the Sterling-based business hemorrhage out of the UK.

Actually we're not seeing that much of it - we have a look at it a couple of weeks ago along those lines, trying to match our sell-in with our sell-through to see if there's a disparity there that might imply that stock is going elsewhere. We're not really seeing a lot of it at the moment - but that's not to say it won't start to happen.

Do we then get into a flurry of price changes? No, I think we remain structured about it and we don't try and predict too far ahead what we think currencies will do. I think we're in a fine place as regards our price points anyway now, and I think the consumers are testament to that - they are flooding to the platform in a way that is even beyond our own expectation levels to be honest - which is great.

Fortunately we've built sufficient inventory to give us the flexibility to accommodate those levels of demand versus our original plan, so we haven't had any stock shortages. We have sufficient stock to continue to cope with increased demand.

Winner of the 2010 VGC Holiday sales prediction thread with an Average 1.6% accuracy rating. I am indeed awesome.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

Anyone else think Activision's gonna learn the hard way that PS3/360 owners actually like sitting on their ass playing games?

that same theory will lend ms to do the same in japan over the much bigger name of ffxiii

your assuming that their legal system will care. the only reason this MAY have a chance is because INTEL got done for anti competitive behaviour in EUR.

It basically opens a door in EUR for similar suits. And I wasn't saying sony would sue. people would for being force limited to 1 choice, when there are more available.

im sure people in japan would care and btw if the britain case would go ahead people in japan could use that as a case for evidence.. i cant remember what its called but the legal system thrives on a first case going ahead then copying the result.

Plus every single exclusive would get affected by this if one did happen

Do you honestly think people in Japan got a 360 for FFXIII, also considering how many 360s have sold in japan well.. not to mention FFXIII is coming to 360 too.

The point being the game i snot an exclusive anywhere else, means microsoft is using money to prevent competition in a market.

But like I said, I do not live in the UK it woudld be interesting to see if people do try this lol.
