I never said that the developers were lazy, nor the publisher, in bringing Chop Till you Drop on the Wii. Because the game is really great and it was well executed with their schedule and budget. It has very little bugs (you have to work really hard to see them :P) and the control mechanics work much better in my opinion than the original version. The game could deliver much more if more time and budget were given to the development team to perform a similar process when the game was planned in the first place. But external factos like the original game released some good time ago and the sequel in current development it would be bad for the company to talk about Dead Rising 2 very shortly after the release of Chop Till you Drop. So no more time was given due for corporate reasons. I can only wonder if the game was in development in paralel with the original on xbox 360, things would be so much different

Others did, here and elsewhere.
But as for the rest, those do look like plausible reasons they couldn't do everything, and they stated themselves that there would be diminishing returns past a certain point, so anything planned but would be the diminishing parts were likely dropped for those very reasons.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
