Modern Warfare 2 won't be on Wii. Their Engine does not use the Wii's capabilities yet

Do your damn research. It's using the CoD4 engine, which World at War used.

And so the lates James Bond game that is made by the developers of Moderns Warfare, not World at war

They ported the engine to fit the Wii, Treyarc did a very good job. However with a closer look it lacks in comparison to engines that were on the gamecube and have a lot better effects and graphics. Even Black that is on PS2 looks better than World at war.

I'm not blaming the Wii is just that the Engine was designed for multiple core processors and GPUs with shaders much like PC not for the wii. To port it would mean reworking many of the features and takes a lot more time. This is the reason why High Voltage Software decided to wirk on the Quanmtum 3 engine that was used for GC, PS2 and PSP games and add features than working on their Quantum 4 engine that is used for Xbox360, PS3 and modern PCs

I am thinking the odds are against it coming to Wii. But the internets are perfect incubational areas of speculation. And the fact that people are responding to this thread shows some interest in the game.

If WaW is anything to go by, at least 1 million people would be interested

"They ported the engine to fit the Wii"

Wrong. The engine is said outright to be scaleable, and the Wii version was developed by IW, just not finished in time for 4.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

^^ do you actually believe them?

by looking at the two games: World at War and Quantum of Solace, It's clear that the "scaling" process to the Wii started after Modern Warfare and not before. Treyarc did a lot better on World at War because they started working on the game when Modern Warfare was well into development (but left the game with no online gameplay). This is why Quantum of Solace looks pretty bad on Wii.

Any game engine is "scalable", any developer can tell you that. But it's the games that show if they tell the truth. The Engine of wii is far from finished

Well, if it was on the Wii, I'd get it. I've been playing a lot of COD:WaW on the wii lately, love the game. If MW2 doesn't hit the wii, if i do feel compelled to play it, I'll play the PC version, which is always the best version graphically and control-wise

Bard can you explain to the guy above you how the engine works on the Wii, thank you so much.

Currently enjoying: Monster Hunter Tri.

I have even seen a pre order for MW2 wii on Game Mania (mainly dutch storechain - belgium/netherlands).

link game mania

The funny thing is here: it says MW2 wii on the left, and on the right it mentions all the platforms it's on, excluding the wii. If this game isn't coming to the wii, then a lot of gamestores are mistaken.

This is a real, nice mystery.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I didn't say the engine does not work at all. What I'm saying is that the engine is not working like it's supposed to do and does not support the developer's claims.

I would love to play Modern Warfare on Wii. But, I don't think MW2 will be on Wii, maybe the third installment has a chance

That's exactly what a second chance is for. During that time after WaW released even a little before IW could have been tweaking all the bugs and just the overall performance of the engine. And since IW made the Cod4 engine, they have a better understanding of how it works. They can easily make the game look great, run great, and feel great.

Umm. there's not hardware shaders, so the lighting/shader system has to all be programmed in. Oh, and friend codes for networking.

I'm sure he has a clue on how it works or he wouldn't be discussing it.

Personally, I had no issues with COD:WaW engine on the Wii.

BTW, I just recently stumbled across how to configure my Nyko Perfect Shot with COD WaW, so now Im using a gun to play the game. Much, much more stable aiming now for me, and when I wanna beat someone with my gun, I practice my pistol-whip action
