Infinity Ward is actually the one's that finished optimizing the Call of Duty 4 engine along with Treyarch for the Wii. After IW finished optimizing the engine for the Wii, they handed it over to Treyarch so they can get familiar with it and get their hands in it. In this process, Treyarch worked around the things they wanted in their game and what couldn't make it in the game with the engine. And some of the things were cut due to time and cost and to Wii hardware. And with the CoD4 Engine (MW2 uses this engine as well) finished for the Wii, they can optimize even farther and make it not look like garbage.

Do you know what confuses me. Why do people say "Infinity Ward hates the Wii?" They clearly don't and I have talked to IW's Robert Bowling (FourZeroTwo) on many occasions and asked him on his thoughts about the Wii. He says "It's a great console, with a lot of potential." He has no problems with the Wii whatsoever. Infinity Ward loves the Wii.

Why would Infinity Ward finish optimizing their engine for the Wii, then never release a game for that particular console?

And the reason why Call of Duty 4 never came to the Wii was because Infinity Ward was trying to port the engine over to the Wii but sadly they didn't have enough time to do so. Activision said they HAD to release the game soon so they never got to porting the engine over. And in their down time after the release of Call of Duty 4, Infinity Ward finally got the chance to finish their already work-in-progress engine port, and then later gave it to Treyarch for World at War. And since the engine is now finished and is ready to be optimized even farther by Infinity Ward, there is no excuse of why Modern Warfare 2 shouldn't release on the Wii.

I guess the real question is then, whay have they not said anything about it being on the wii now? And if it is not on the wii why would this decision be made?

Now Playing: The Witcher (PC)

Consoles Owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Boy, DS

Maybe the Wii version is not coming out on the same date as the other versions. Or maybe it'll be a little different from the PC/360/PS3 versions. Similar to Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts for the PS2. But I would hope that wasn't the case.

And if the game is not coming to the Wii, then I blame laziness.

I guess it'd be cool to see CoD on the Wii, but in the end I'd always rather play an fps on my PC instead.

The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth.

Still hoping it's a compilation of MW 1 & 2. That would be awesome.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I don't think the Wii will get two Modern Warfare games at once. And if you mean on the same disc, then you never will see it.

Why wouldn't they do both games? They didn't have time to do the first, but they could do it here.

Well IW is a pretty busy developer, making 3 different Modern Warfare 2s and getting ready to launch a beta, and preparing DLC. I don't think they will be developing a previous CoD for a console they have never developed for.

And plenty of times consoles get sequels without ever seeing the first title. Look at Monster Hunter 3. Klonoa. and many more.

I'm just stating it's possible. IW could even get extra developers to help.
