Forums - Nintendo - I Predict 1st Wk Sales for EA Sports Active > Punch Out + Boom Blox Party

EA Sports Active more than likely got a pretty big shipment. EA hyped and advertised this game quite well. But my guess is they also had at least half of that shipment for the well established brand that is Boom Blox. And of course I doubt Punch-Out!! shipments would be low enough to not be at least higher than EA Sports Active.

So it's probable but not plausible. More than likely, first week of Punch Out will beat EA Sports Active first week. If I had to take a guess, I would say about 125k-150k for Punch Out in America. Then about 70k-80k for EA Sports Active and about 20k-30k first week for Boom Blox. All in America of course.

Worldwide, I'd say all have a great shot at going platinum.

apparently boom blox party hasn't even made it into the stores yet since nobody can find them, either that or EA printed too few copies.

*looks at game collection*

Yea about them not having it in yet haha.

I guess it's EA then =_=

Will Ea Sports Active beat them first week no Punchout alone should edge it out.Lifetime Ea sports active will beat them easily though.

No it's the retailer's fault.  They order how many they want to put in their stores and warehouses.  EA, like all publishers/distributors, will sell them to the retailers and they will have them in their warehouses.  Then the retailers put them out on the designated "street dates".  Not EA's fault as they probably shipped them the game to their warehouses at least a few days ago.  More than likely the retailers haven't gotten them out of their warehouses and sent to the stores or the regional stores haven't put them on the shelves (highly unlikely).

Majority of the time, publishers/distributors aren't going to miss their shipments.  Usually it's the retailer's fault if the game is not on shelves at the designated street date.

prolly too many left over boom blox copies? XD

EA Sports Active will debut MUCH hgher than 70-80k. One Gamestop near me had over 200 preorders and opened at midnight to sell them. Hardly came to the midnight sale, but who would've expected them to? I doubt many stores had that kind of number (this is a high volume store), but I think many Wii Fit owners would buy this early based on how hard Wii Fit was to get for months.  Imagine how many extra holster/resistant band packs they will sell as well (two can play at the same time if you buy the second $20 accessory which is currently sold out on Amazon). Hell, Gamestop has their own version of an extra holster pack for the same price as EA, just in different colors at the "games" launch. I think this will easily top 200k 1st week, maybe even hit 300k. In the US alone.

I agree with 125-150k for Punch out, though I'd like to see higher sales on week 1. Boom blox might be right at 20-30k as well. Both will sell a million with slow consistant legs though...

And speaking of legs, EA SA will easily sell the most of all 3 lifetime.

BAM! There it is!

The release date is only meant for big games.  Regular games are usually in stops 1-2 days after release dates.  Punch Out!! is a big enough game to be on store shelves on the actual release date.  Boom Box isn't.
