The Internet communities have been on a roller-coaster ride for about 2 weeks now due to Kojima Productions teaser site for their next project.

When the teaser site emerged, fans went crazy and started to speculate what could be the (Next) project by Kojima Productions and the strongest speculation remains to be “Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to the Xbox 360” & “Metal Gear Solid 5 Announcement“.

As a big Metal Gear series fan i would love to hear the Metal Gear Solid 5 announcement, but i still feel that this isn’t the right time to announce the next MGS. Why, because Metal gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots was released on June 12 , 2008 and announcing the sequel within a year will kill the uniqueness of the franchise.

Similar to the Halo, Guitar Hero etc. These franchises can be considered one of the best of all time, but thanks to their reputed developers they aren’t unique anymore they are just a project that companies develop when they are low on cash , a Halo game is released almost twice every year and Guitar Hero, well a new one is announced every week.

So as a true fan of the Metal Gear Solid series i wouldn’t want it to turn into yet another cash grab project.

their are 4 halo games out right now, and by the end of the year it will be five.

Halo came out in 2001

So by the end of they year their will be 5 Halo games released in 9 years which is around averages out to be one every other year.

As for MGS--10 games in about 11 years so about 1 MGS game each year, and lets not forget the MGS iphone game ;)

I will give you that guitar hero is being milked for all it's worth.  I'm not sure how many more years they keep that up before the consumer gets tapped out/sick of it.

How many Mario games has Nintendo released? Or Sonic games by Sega?

They still have a bunch of releases before they can be blamed for milking.

As long as its a good game who cares how often they release?

That seems about right... it was the main reason for Konami's success last year so it's understandable that Konami's head guys would want another one out ASAP...
