Forums - General - where were you at 9/11?

I was getting ready to go to school. At the time, I was in 5th grade. I didn't really know what was going on, but I knew it wasn't good; the news story I saw before I left showed some shocked reporters, and my teachers seemed a bit off for the rest of the day.

9th grade in study hall...I think I saw the second tower go down live...it was not a good sight :(

I was in 5th grade watching it on tv in class

I was at home with my brother. I was in 3rd grade and I remember someone called my brother to turn on CNN. Thats were I saw it and I was watching for quite some time. I believe I started watching before the second plane hit.

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

I was in maths class at school. Most of the kids didn't know what the world trade centers were. I had been to New York a few times though so I knew.

I was in college and it happened on one of the days I had no morning classes so I naturally wanted to sleep in.

My roommate walked into my room, told me something major happened with terrorist and bombings, I figured they just bombed a random building so I told him to go to Hell and leave me a lone. A few hours later I get to class and notice everyone in the student center crowded so I finally found out.

Kind of on topic, but I think people make too big of a deal out of 9/11. Yes, it was a tragedy and an all around horrible thing, but some people just need to move on. I'm not talking about the people that had family that died that day (though they should move on too), mainly the people that complain the WTC should no longer be in movies and whatnot that take place before 9/11 and just wanted the buildings to be forgot almost. Forgot is probably the wrong word, but it's still kind of an insult I think.

Now for those people who are still sensitive, just don't read the following: I have a friend who couldn't but help of thinking this song when he saw the people jumping out the window.  Yeah, he had a few people angry with him.

I was in fourth grade. I remember thinking my fear of being inside skyscapers wasn't so irrational...

Asleep.

Got woken up. School got canceled.

The first thing I thought was "Didn't that just happen in a movie?"

Which it did.

AI? Because I remember it was supposed to come out the same week in England, but they delayed it because it showed the twin towers in disrepair and falling down.
