Forums - General - where were you at 9/11?

There are few events in your life where you remember where you were when something big happened: JFK assassination, Neil Armstrong on the Moon, and so on. This thread may not be so big on those outside of the United States, but if you do remember, feel free to post(unless you were sleeping at the time).

I'll start first. I was at school in the 4th grade when my teacher was looking at her computer and she told us that a plane has hit one of the World Trade Centers. I didn't know what that was at that age, but I knew it was bad. Later that day, when i got home, i looked on the news and saw what happened, I don't think i was more truly scared than that moment, watching people jump off the building in order to not get burned alive.

Where were you at 9/11?

Asleep. I woke up and saw it on news but I didnt really understand it......if that makes sense. I just shrugged it off. I was in 4th grade and yea still went to school and carried on like it was a normal day.

i was in fourth grade.

2nd week of college at Boston University. I was either brushing my teeth, walking to class, or in my first class. I didn't find out about it until everybody was crying in the elevator on my way back up to my dorm room, and talking about how much revenge they wanted on "the towelheads." So I went into the lobby and saw a little on the TV about it, but it was really crowded in there, so I went to my room and read about it on the internet, and talked to my friends in New York.

Fighting with my mom to put on spongebob while she was watching the news....
