Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Power "The Conduit" Review - 6.5

So, they had a 6 page long preview in the last issue but in this one a one page review. And you think it's legit?

Right i dont understand few things; 1) most of FPS's now days have bad stories, especially since the focus is on Multiplayer. 2) Campaign 8 hours is too short? CoD is much shorter and so are majority of shooters in this era. 3. similar comments to voice acting.

Well i hope the online will improve before the release (they still have some time) and it should be a cool game.

It's funny that most cons of this game are shared with majority of shooters this generation. And couduit was supposed to answer the lack of generic shooters.

And if a game turns out to be bad (after all those great previews and attention) at least HVS have developed a great engine that will possible be used by other devs.

If this ultimately fake Damn Sega are gonna be pissed.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Oh yeah, and they gave Mad World 9/10 when the single player is 3 hours long. Sure, it's legit!

Looks like the new Haze rather than the new Halo.

That has been confirmed for ages...

I would ask to close this thread until we know the review is legit. I hope it is fake, it is always sad that a potential great game ends up being bad.

the bust is in, From Gamespot forums -------------------

A thread was created on the System Wars board that claimed to have the Nintendo Power review for The COnduit, an upcoming Wii exclusive FPS, and posted a scan of the alleged review, stating the game has been awarded a 6.5/10. This review is a fake. I repeat, this review is fake.

Here's why:

1. the latest issue of Nintendo Power was released on 12th May. This review was not in it. If you do not believe me, then check Nintendo Power's site at www.nintendopower.com, and click on full contents. Btw, you dont even have to do that, I'm assuming if they are carrying a review for one of the most anticcipated Wii games, it'll at least have a MENTION on the cover, but it doesnt. Anyway, neither does the table of contents.

2. The review posted here is: a) very unprofessionally written, b) gramatically ncorrect in numerous places and c) immature

3. the review carries outdated, incorrect information about the game. for example, it mentions 16 player online, while conduit supports only 12 players on any map. 4. the game will be released in JUNE. JUNE. yeah, so the review should be carried in the June issue.

5. The review isnt listed on GameRankings, Metacritic, Gamestats or MobyGames AT ALL. Why would that be so?

DON'T believe that review. Wait for the true reviews of that game, wait for the game to be released. And people, please start acting a bit more maturely, what'll you get by dashing others' hopes?

Peace
