^^ 5 - 6 million ... yeah thats a limb alright!!! Thats not even realistic ...

 Just wait and see

I don't need to, its not going to happen.

This. Uncharted 2 will likely see 3-3.5mill tops...

If it reachs 3 million thats great for a PS3 exclusive, its the higher end of what they do.

the first one sold 2.3 million and the game was out in 07 uncharted 2 will sel easily 3.5million (at least)

excuse me, higher install base does not mean higher sales ...

why would you like to be excused? and anyway your telling me a higher install base will have no effect what so ever on gamesales?

Figure of speech. Looks at Gears of War. Higher install base did nothing for it.

as Uncharted was approaching 2 million it got bundled .. .. I really don't see it doing 3.5 million ... thats around MGS4 .. ridiculous ..

was having a joke. maybe uncharted 2 will be bundled, but you cant say a bigger install base doesnt increse sales because it does even if its only by a few thusand sales

potential new customers don't always translate into actual customers.

3.5 million is very very unlikely to happen unless its massively bundled.

You've just said what I've been saying  " potential new customers don't always translate into actual customers".

Not really, they just offset the people that decide to buy it that bought the last game. Just go look at Gears.  and GT while you're are it.

I agree higher install base does get new people buying the next game, but that doesn't mean the game will sell better than the first, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. In this case .. Uncharted won't sell another 1.5 million on top of what the first 1 did.

your saying it again sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't, so your kinda saying it might at the same time as trying to disscus it won't, look were all entitled to our opinions and you think a bigger install base wont make a difference fair enough, but life time sales I predict 3 million low end 3.5 million high end

IMO, the easiest way to kill this argument, buy them both and enjoy them both. That way, you don't miss out on either, regardless of who sells more

This is a thread discussing about sales though. However its funny to look back and see how petty it all becomes, and playing both the games is the only thing that really matters ... this IS VGChartz though

It really is going to depend on how much MS and Ubisoft are going to put into this game. Splinter Cell is an Xbox title much like the Meta Gear Solid series in Sony's. I think if they present something phenomenal at E3 it'll electrify a lot of the AC crowd into buying the game as well.
