I'd have more faith in Cage if:

1) It wasn't a Sony published game, it seems no matter how bad or unimpressive a PS3 exclusive looks, it's a mandate to say its only possible on PS3

2) It matched the original tech demo from 3 years ago

3) If the better looking Resident Evil 5 had not been released a good while before this title.

You honestly think HEAVY RAIN looks unimpressive...... WoW......

Not specifically, it looks....nice, but nothing more. TBH the minimum bar for an exclusive is the best looking multiplatform game in that specific genre, this doesn't match that, so wheres the beef? Wasn't the big excuse that stuff like Motorstorm and Resistance were only possible on PS3...then along come DIRT, GRID, CoD4 and make them completely immaterial.

I was more referring to stuff like Infamous (which IGN gave a whopping 8.5 in the visuals department) and the upcoming MAG - the former basically along the lines of the 2 year old Crackdown, the imminent Prototype and GTAIV, Assasins Creed, it's sequel and so on - and the latter effectively looking like a PSP game?

Seriously, i'm all for games that are legitimately impressive like Killzone 2 and ID's upcoming Rage and Alan Wake, but Sony has milked this "only possible on PS3" like a cows udder spitting dust and blood that it's lost all meaning.

Flower? Effing Flower? It feels like a really bad joke.

lets get back on track a little =), I think this game looks very interesting, and we all know the PS3 is more powerful already, though it's debatable whether or not a game of this type would require that much power where the 360 can't be made to work with it(I think it can, would just be done differently,) although it really doesn't matter since it's an exclusive. the real questions left now are, game play, and story. I don't think the story will be bad since this game is focused on that, but I personally hope the game play won't be a crap load of quick time events like what the preview videos have shown or I'll have to shoot babies.

The developers have already explained this in countless interviews. The game will not be all quick time events. THe game's real gameplay is surrounded by the ability to interact with anything and everything. Each particular object in the game has been modeled seperately and is fully intereactable in some way shape or form. The game is suppose to be able to react to what the gamer's own personal plan of action would be. If you tried to open the front door and it was locked, you can go around back, grab a trashcan, then use it to boost you to a window for safe entry. This is the type of game Heavy Rain will be. THe plot has not been revealed in any shape or form, but my geuss is that is will be grand in it's execution.

THe hard part for this game, as impressive as the game visuals are, is not it's graphics. It is the tedious and calculating process of being able to react with EVERYTHING. THIS is why the game pushes far beyond what he 360 is capable of.

1) So A few MultiPlat Dev saying that the 360 Pushes More Polygons make the PS3 more powerful?

2) So a Game like Heavy Rain Can Apear On DreamCast in the Form Of ShenMue...But not on the 360?

I find it funny that when a former bungie dev who hasn't developed any game on ps3 in his entire life says "KZ2 is definitly possible on 360" ppl or rather fanboys never doubt his words but when a dev that has work with the ps3 for a very long time and said somthing like "It would be hard for it to do on 360" suddenly you got all the hate and flaming and taunting like this devs are on sonys payroll....It's also hillarious that the same ppl called crytek a bunch of liers(remember the thread crytek said that ps3 version of their new console game will run better).......sigh @ fanboys.

The game originally started as a multiplat but went ps3 exclusive due to technical roadblocks :p

So...Your point is that Bungie is wrong in saying what they said..But Sucker Puch or Quantum Dream are right?

To answer your question on why Exclusives are better/more important.....

Well I have a firm belief that only an exclusive game can ever tap into a console's true potential. You see, MP games will always be held back by their lowest common denominator. They can only be as powerful or as tech savy as the weakest platform. Exclusives are not held down by this fact. They have the freedom to traverse console architecture, bringing out the best games around.

MGS4, Mass Effect, Uncharted, Killzone 2, Fable 2, Gears of War, MAGetc. These are prime examples of how MP games display some of the better qualities of a console.

COD, Madden, etc, these games would always be inferior to a console exclusive version of themselves. Not to say they are not great games, they just don't stack up with the benefits of the system like exclusives can.

The other issues lies with the fact the PS3 is superior in hardware then the 360. Many try to deny it but it is an unavoidable truth. The PS3 can do whatever the 360 can do......and then some. Does this make the 360 a bad console on this fact alone, NO. Does it mean that bigger better games(technically) can be done on the PS3 though, YES.

I didn't even bother factoring Wii into this. THe HD consoles have a serious leg up on capabilities compared to Wii. If rumors are true, and the PS3 and 360 get Waggle controllers at E3, the Wii will no longer have any tech advantage over them(besides Nintendo Exclusive Character Games:Mario).

It's your Opiion....

Did you Exclusive?

So all those Comparision where the 360 has the better version mean what?

You say Technically..But many Devs say that the 360 pushes more polygons..and has better fill rates...

Wii Will Still outsell Both....

It's your Opiion....Backed by Facts....Are there any games that are MP that look as good graphically as Killzone 2? Uncharted? Gears of War?NO

Are there any MP games that have as much going on screen or as many players as MAG? Resistance 2? THe answer is no, by a sizable margin.

Did you Exclusive? What?

So all those Comparision where the 360 has the better version mean what? You mean the comparisons between 360/PS3 MP games? Like I said, the two systems have a different architecture. When creating a MP game developers frequently use the lowest common denominator(the 360). Seeing as the PS3's build is so different, when developers do this the PS3 version usually suffers. Yet games that are developed on PS3 first come out better or equal on both platforms, and games that are exclusive to PS3 don't show nearly as much error. In fact PS3 exclusives are the most tech savy and polished games around.

What also must be factored in is that the PS3 version of MP games don't look nearly as bad as some reviewers/publications would have you believe. My roommate has/had a 360. I have Assassin's Creed for PS3, then rented AC for 360. When I watch the videos on Gametrailers on the graphical difference, it is visible......yet when I actually play the games side by side, they look identical. GT comparison videos have already been exsposed as a means of making PS3 games SEEM inferior....when in fact they arent.

You say Technically..But many Devs say that the 360 pushes more polygons..and has better fill rates... Who says this? For every one that says this for 360, there are like 2 that says the PS3 can do more then the 360 in every way. The PS3 in clusters forms a supercomputer. THe Cell architecture is also used for the worlds most powerful supercomputer in the WORLD. If that doesn't speak the PS3's leagues of power over the 360, nothing will.

Wii Will Still outsell Both....Yes it will.......sad really. Such an inferior console trouncing the much more developed competition.
