Forums - Sales - Have you ever made money off videogames?

I have, one time I bet that the xbox 360 would be ahead of the ps3 in sales at the end of 2008 and I got 3 bucks! It was enough to feed an un-named addiction I have!

I currently reside under the London Bridge.

Does anyone know what I did with my hat?

I don't gamble but I think i would be a certainty if you can get that bet again that the PS3 will NEVER go ahead of the 360 in 2009 either, 8 million + whatever MS sells up to the end of the year !!! not a chance.

If you live under London bridge how come you bet in bucks and not pounds ?  :)

I made £80 from GTAIV

Everybody in my high school paid me to get them all the cheats in GoldenEye. I was the only kid in the entire school who could unlock the invincibility cheat on the Facility level. One guy could do everything but that, and he hated me. And nobody would pay him to do shit because he couldn't get them invincibility. So I'd get a couple bucks here and there, or some lunch, or a couple bucks and a couple M-80s. Yeah, one kid paid me in fireworks.

Bought all 10 Barbie horse PC games I saw in Tesco store for 27p each when I saw they were selling on ebay for £25 each.

Have bought dozens of old original Xbox live starter packs for between 99p - £5 and sold them on Ebay for between £20 - £30. Most people didn't seem to know, including stores that the old Xbox live packs also work for Xbox 360 subscription.

Woolworths selling stacks of Gamecube limited edition Zelda collectors disks for £2, bought them all and sold them on Ebay for about £20 each.

And made £2000+ selling on Wiis at launch.

I sold my world of warcraft special edition right after the launch for more (like 150 euros) and I sold my world of warcraft account for 300 euro's right after the burning crusade came out.

I also made some profit on some games I bought new for 25 bucks and sold them for like 30.

thats all

oh wait, I remember selling fifa 98 copies on highschool to other students for 10 bucks and burned twilight cd's for 10 bucks. It was awesome

I used to be a big time hardcore starcraft player, made quite a bit of money there.

nowadays, though, i make my money from selling used games.

I bought Super famicom DBZ Hyper Dimension for $15 and drilled the back so it can be played on Super Nintendo. Sold it on eBay for like $120. At that time DBZ was getting big in NA and there weren't any DBZ games at all in NA.
