Hahaha! I guess 3-D Realms got the biggest party budget. How this gone unnoticed is beyond the capability of my comprehension.

Nah, I think 3D Realms are still stuck in the 90's and deserved to go under.

listen to you guys. You don't want another great game to play ? cause you certainly sound like it. Even if you guys aren't interested in this game a lot of people are. You make it sound like it's a good thing one of the founding companies of FPS has gone under. It's not. Even if they didn't release their games often.. you were certain it'd be a freakin good game when they did.. and judging by the leaked video of duke forever.. it looks like it would be a very worthy goty contender.. looked amazing. Not only visually.. but fun too.

Staude; of course I want good games to play, too many rank pieces of feces being released nowadays (like Crysis). But I also want developers to get with the times and give me/us something that can contend with games of today and it seems like 3D Realms failed right there.
Maybe they'll be back in another form? That has happened before and even if it doesn't, a lot of their talent is bound to be picked up by other developers and put to good use!

That's what I was thinking. To dump money into this without putting a reasonable time limit on the game's development... No wonder Take Two has been losing massive amounts of money even after launching GTA4.

First of all the game was self funded. And second of all like i said in the post above. If this came out it looks from the leaked footage like goty material. I would get it day 1. No hesitation.

It would sell millions .. simply because of the curiosity.

I'm not sure the game really is self-funded.

"Take-Two said in 2000 it had an agreement with Apogee and paid $12 million for publishing rights to the forthcoming game. In 2007, the two companies entered into a second agreement."

This second agreement might well have included funding for development. Who knows...
