Around the Network

quite a few 360 titles, 5 different ones in fact.

go Wii sports, totally deserves it, not that crappy Wii play.

Wow, this list has a couple of strange additions. Gundam Musou gets an "award for excellence"? For what? "Excellently" taking the worst aspects of two franchises and cramming them together in one awful game?

I'd also have liked to see Okami in the "Grand Award" category, rather than Monster Hunter Portable. (I suppose the Monster Hunter franchise is rather inexplicably popular among Japanese gamers, but still, it's nothing more than a stripped-down MMORPG...)

All in all, a decent list, but it seems like it makes a few concessions to popularity over substance.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Wow, many Xbox 360 games.

Wii Sports, Zelda, New Mario and The IDOLM@STER = Great.

Award for excellence
GUNDAM MUSOU

OK, the thing is so rigged.

Yeah, it's amazing how many PS3 games are up there.

I like the MHP2. It is some serious portable console gaming. Wii Sports winning an award in Japan is significant if not at least for the fact that it is not a bundle-in game there, people are buying it seperately.

he ment gundam musou is pure shit, you obviously haven't played it...

i like the props given to mgs po, it is a great game.

/me pats Ps3 on the head.
/me says "Don't worry, there will always be a next year."

Nothing's cheaper than something free.

F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.

I don't know. Maybe they were impressed with the stunning graphics. Perhaps they were amazed at the way wingmen could draw fire. I don't know what the criteria was for "Excellence".

What's interesting is 360 go so many awards, yet sales so horribly in Japan. I am not bashing, just that you would think 360 would sell better where it received so many good awards.
