Guys, is GTA IV (the game itself) worth it?
that game is really boring, and the DLC is like the paid waste on the poop

The story of the original was awesome... and the DLC is like getting ice cream with my cake... soon I get to have some pie... I hope it's chocolate pie(my favorite).  I'm thinking we'll be playing that Irish kid... he was pretty awesome.

I was a bit gutted when the dlc went exclusive. I loved gta4 and would have loved to play some more campaign. I tried a couple of missions on bikes lol awesome!

What really was so great about the story? Don't get me wrong, I loved the presentation of the story and the cinematic scenes, but was the story itself that great? It also seems a bit conflicting on its message, or perhaps extremely pessimistic.

Spoiler: The story was at its core about the cycle of revenge, and even though Niko, in the better ending, forgets his grudge with Demetri and tries to make a new future with his family Roman and Mallory, and ends up getting screwed over and getting sucked right back into getting revenge against Demetri. Katie was such a random fucking character, and I felt like it was such a cop out love interest thing to put in. When Roman gets killed, you actually feel some emotion, because you knew him for the entire game and connected with him. Katie? What? A few dates maybe?

Niko himself isn't that likeable a character. The man he was trying to get revenge on in the first place (forgot his name) pointed out the hypocricy and selfishness Niko has. In his quest for revenge he has ruined the lives of many innocents and engaged in crime for money ("$5000?!" "And how much do you charge?")

Finally from what IGN said, the character in the DLC, Johnny, is supposedly completely unsympathetic, and that the story is mediocre. And the few extra weapons aren't that worth it, and the missions weren't really the selling point of the game (repetition).

Well different strokes for different folks I guess... I sympathize with Johnny.  I understand his feelings of coming to the realization that he'll never be free.... Freedom was a semi-illusion.

edit:  also I would like to point out that IGN is shit... and so is it's sister site Gamespy... they are both a shell of their former selves

I am still holding out on them coming to PS3, I am sure they will at some point. The engine is already in place on PS3, so it would be very cheap to port them across and take 2 needs money!

If they eventually release both episodes on Blu-ray for PS3 next year then I'd probably buy them but only for the price of about $20-$25

The game gave a amazing first impression.  I don't think anything I've ever played gave me that good of a first impression.  I think that it really impacted the review scores.
