I liked Gears 2 more, aside from that flimsy excuse for a boss "battle". And Horde mode is a lot of fun, this puts Gears 2 above Gears 1 for me because I was never a big fan of the game online.

I can understand the level design thingy and the end boss complains.
But, if my memory serves me well, there was a lot of negativity about the first Gears, concerning the length and the duration of the game. And NOW, our infamous friend, complains that the game was too long.
Anyone that cares to analyze this symptom? No?

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.
Gears 2 is better IMO....I have gears 1 on PC and played trough it once then I got bored and Uninstalled it.
I'm actually re-playing Gears 1 on insane, this week! I guess, a lot of Gears 1's love comes from it's original impact. I prefer Gears 2 by far! Dom runs off and gets killed anytime a butterfly flies by in Gears 1. I command him "Form up!" Dom yells back, "I can't make it!" Why can't you make it, Dom? I'm looking right at you. Wasted my breath, because Dom just ran face first into a Troika cannon. "Somebody....help me...", He begs. "Hey! Fuck you, Guy!!", I reply.
Gears 1 also had it's bad driving sequence and broken end boss (Raam with Kryll on a train). I hate to reach that part. Both games are awesome, and the fact that Gears 2 doesn't make Gears 1 obsolete is a plus, in my book. It's like Mario 3/Mario World. Both are very replayable.

I wouldnt give COD4 anywhere near best shooter. That horrible piece of S**t game I call Respawn Of Duty 4. 8/10 because MP saved it.
KZ2 is good game. But I'm sorry it's not in the same sentence as Halo, Half Life and Doom. It's good though. Halo's just awesome.
And Gears is the most impressive HD new IP. Best selling new HD IP to. Even outsold MGS4.
Halo 3 and Gears 2 the best this gen for shooters.
Mass Effect best RPG to. Well until Mass Effect 2.
